New Home!

Tonight I sign the lease on my new home. It's not a perfect home but I think I'm generally going to like it there. Can move in starting immediately, though I don't have to be out of my old place until Oct 1. Likely the "hire the movers" day will be sometime in September while I spend the rest of August visiting with family and packing and

Congratulations! I dig the French doors and wood floors. It looks like the place will be fun to decorate and put your mark on it! :D

I'm hoping to keep it kinda simple. None of my furniture is very modern-looking and I have several antiques. Am thinking of simple white linen curtains, focus on the wood and antiques. Not sure what to do about art on the walls, will have to consider...

I probably will fail at the "keep it simple" thing, but that's my initial intent...

re: front room being bedroom. do you want people to walk into your bedroom when they walk into the house? if you keep a very neat room, perhaps. but i my mind it would means i could never leave unmentionables lying about.

That was along my thought. Where is the entrance to the unit? I'm not sure I'd want every soul that visits me to tramp through my bedroom.

I also dislike electric. Heats too slowly and uneven. *sigh*

I'm actually escared of electric, as I never know how hot things are. With gas I can see the flame, big flame = big heat, small = small heat. Electric is numbers on a dial, and what do those numbers MEAN? I never seem to truly understand
