ugh I was watching this show on tv about some crazy primary school in Japan, where all the kids have IQs like 190+, and they basically churn out these geniuses - but in a good way. The kids don't act like robots, but they've been playing shogi and Go since they were 5 (as a class period - to teach them strategy and logic and quick thinking), and know more history at 7 than I do now, are covering material years ahead of regular kids their age, and there's no homework cos they're encouraged to go home and research whatever holds their interest, and the teachers refer to the lessons more as guidance than teaching, because the kids already know the stuff agggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I think you and I would have flailed a lot if we'd been watching (granted, while secretly loving the educational masochism). then possibly gone out to eat our feelings.

Be glad, you could be the age you are now AND pregnant with twins, on a second engagement after your first marriage ending in divorce, with a seven- and five-year-old already at home from that first marriage, and getting arrested and convicted on child abuse charges after taking your frustrations re: ex-husband out on said seven- and five-year-olds. On a completely and utterly unrelated note, have I ever told the stories I have about my ex-coworkers? (-_-;;
