Well, I do not know you well enough to feel I should send a personal e-mail. But I want to continue to invite you to come find the joy in the SCA again sometime and meet me on the list.

I hear you. I've been dealing with people who get antsy because they don't hear from me in two hours. Well, my e-mail timetable for SCA business is 48-hours, so I've had to deliver a few reality checks.

We're going to do our damndest to come see y'all next weekend.

While in person can be better than typing most of the time, having once lived with me and my hearing problem and my resultant tendency to talk to everyone else loud enough for *me* to hear, you will probably understand why, in my house, we often carry on conversations using IM whilst sitting at our computers within sight of one another! That way I don't have to wear my hearing aids, and they don't have to tell me "inside voice" constantly!

I also have a preference for letters carefully composed and several times edited when it is needful to discuss an issue which has generated much stress/hurt/anger because I have noticed in me a tendency to not think clearly when I dissolve into tears when talking in person. Alas, far too many people skip the part about "carefully composed and several times edited" for such situations...
