In 17th century Austria and Prussia, Lords would generally occupy their people with the immintent threat of war.

The nation, terrified that at any moment they could be under seige, rallied joyously behind their leader.

sound familiar?

NOOOOOO. Stephanie, the History book's got it wrong, maybe they just loved their Lords for being great leaders! duh!

Nobody wants to sound like they're dumb enough to fall for that.

ironically, the threat of war in austria and prussia in this time period WAS imminent. and there are things that these lords did to their people that bush (assuiming he is who you are referring to) does not do, which frightened the people into being loyal (ie - beheadings, political executions, starving their people, etc ( ... )

brad, i think you have an honest to goodness good opinion. and i respect it. what i dont respect are people who just vote because they dont know the issues and dont even bother to understand them.

anyone who feels passionately towards any cause has a thumbs up and you get six. im just saying that the masses of people are sometimes really really wrong.
