I finished Mrs. Dalloway. I would have mentioned reading it before, but I seem to jinx my chances of finishing a rough book whenever I talk about it too soon. Now that I know all of these Westminster residents of the 1920s, I can't say that I envy them, though I felt all along that I was there with them, and can at least admire how the author's ( Read more... )

I liked it. I'd like to think that I read it solely because of its reputation as an interesting, insightful story, but watching the movie The Hours gave me an extra nudge since it's related to Woolf's book.

I wouldn't say that I read books because they're classics. On the other hand, I'm not the sort who reads books because they're on the bestseller list. Reading book reviews or getting a recommendation usually points me in the right direction.
