Just to clear things up because I feel like there is a lot of confusion surrounding this, Adam and I were NOT on a date on Monday night. He was there because he was invited by someone other than me. I was there because I was invited by Robin (not Adam). He asked me if I was going, but we never once talked about going together. He showed up well ( Read more... )

Erm. I'm going to need directions. :-) Or can I just come over to your place right when I get off of work? I know where that is...and since I'm all the way out in C-ville, it would just be easier for me to STAY in this area of town, ya know?

This is exactly why you should never date anyone who 1) is friends with your friends, or 2) is on livejournal.

Amen.

Always be real with your feelings, folks. If you bottle them up inside for too long, for fear of pissing people off, eventually you are going to burst. That is what LJ is REALLY here for. To post about your feelings. As retarded and hippy as it may be, that is why we have these things, they are here for us to be *real* and tell the world how we feel. So lets start the realness.

I feel you on the trust/friendship thing. If people don't want to be friends with you because they don't like what you do or who you are, that's their perogative. All that really matters is that you like yourself, because you're the only one who has to be with you. :)

I, for one, enjoy your company.

Wow, touchy touchy D. I know that it's after the fact and too late, but I'll apologize now to you and to the viewing public, for whatever that's worth. I am after all the centerpiece of all this drama, even if others built the fire. Drama just seems to find me I guess, no matter how much I try to avoid it. Like the avatar btw ( ... )

This is getting rather long and will probably draw more drama, but I want to make one final point. I take no offense to you calling me an ass Donna, because it is an empty tongue-lashing, and has no real value because you really don't know me well enough to make that judgement. Sticks and stones. You are entitled to think whatever you want about me, even if others disagree with you, but in the future I'd advise you try at least to know all the parts before you make an assessment about the whole of someone. That one sentence I wrote in my LJ about "being able to contemplate philosophy, politics, etc." seems to have given everyone the impression that I'm some aristocratic snob. Believe me, I can name three dozen people off the top of my head that "know" more about such things than me. And who cares about how much a person knows anyway? Nobody knows everything, and if they think they do then they are fools. Every person, no matter what the extent of their knowledge, has something we can learn from. What I don't know, I don't ( ... )

I'm not trying to be rude, Adam, honest to God. I hope you (or anyone else) does not take it as such. But maybe you could talk the way you do in person, when commenting? Not that you aren't eloquent and all, and it would work nicely in the novelization of a journal comment, but when you are just speaking your mind, just be chill, ya know? Reading this kind of surprised me, and I had to do a double take and wonder if this was indeed the same person I had met the other night. It seemed condescending, even.

Example:
"I like your blue sweater."
As opposed to: "I rather enjoy the aesthetically pleasing nature of the cerulean cardigan that adorns your figure."

It just gets things across more easily, and makes you seem like less intimidating person to talk to.

Maybe I'm just as blonde as they come, and a genuine airhead. I never said I wasn't one. But I'm also a people person, and I know them pretty damn well. Just my two cents. Which is probably exactly what it is worth. :)

Thanks for being mature and classy. Seriously. You did say some things that really hurt my feelings in your journal (hence the "ass" comment) so, yes, I was a little defensive toward you. It is your journal and you should feel free to write what you please, but you also made judgements about my character without getting to know me at all. For example, I am not a blind Republican and I do not have an evil twin, thanks. Let's just chalk this mess up and forget about it. I have to move on - I have a best friend that this is causing turmoil with and I can't have that! :)
