I'm glad you're kind of settling into yourself. And 24 isn't even old, so just enjoy your blossoming adulthood and quit worrying about becoming elderly or whatever. :3
I definitely hear you on the "omg my life, my life!" insecurities as you approach your bday; heaven knows, I do it enough myself. But honestly, it sounds like in spite of that, you're looking ahead, and the best is yet to come.
Happy birthday, bb. Cheers and here's to a good twenty-fourth. <3
I'm so, so glad you're feeling less anxious and generally better. As I'm still in the safety bubble that is college, this opinion might be due to blissful ignorance, but I think it's okay to still be figuring everything out at 24. I'm not sure if I mentioned this to you already or if it was someone else on LJ, but a few years ago there was an article about how the 20s are now the drifting years (they used another phrase, but for the life of me I can't recall it, which is a shame as I remember that it was quite catchy), and most people are still living at home with their parent(s) and jumping from one job to the next. It's not until their 30s that they settle down, start a career, figure out life, etc. That's not to say that someone in their 20s shouldn't want to have life figured out or won't, but I think it's safe to say that you are most definitely not alone. You also clearly have an advantage over your peers because a) you're incredibly intelligent and articulate, b) from what I've seen
( ... )
and thanks, bb! :3 i have no doubt that the usual points of anxiety will crop up again and again, but it's nice to feel increasingly settled into this phase of life. coming straight out of college was very ... "omg why is everything not perfect, i am a failure," and i'm glad that is passing.
ps i am very jealous that you got to hear matt & kim live. i shouldn't be complaining bc i just got to see the go! team at the 930 club and it was a great concert, but you got to see them for free~
It's almost the end of the school year, so I'm doing well (if not slightly stressed, but I just keep reminding myself that I'm this close to the summer!). =D I've missed you as well!
Ooh, did you really? That sounds exciting. <3 Is it sad that I have yet to go to a concert at the 930 club? I feel like it's a rite of passage I skipped right over.
never too late!! this was my first, and now i see what i've been missing out on bc it's such a great venue. i like concert spaces that feel like you're at a concert and not hearing music at a bar.
hello lovely imi-aka-mig! i do think being in your mid-twenties is a nice place to be for the most part, but then i'd have to say that wouldn't i, as I'm 27 and now officially old. i do hope you have a lovely birthday <3
