I'm finally posting my updated list of hottest guys on tv for the 2008-2009 season. Since I was so late, I've thrown in a bonus suprise!
Unlike my girls list, my guys list stays pretty much the same every year in terms of what guys are on it (see
last year's list and the
year before that). In honor of my faithfulness to these guys, I present to you my hottest guys in 2008-2009: a look then and now.
5. Jensen Ackles - Then: Alec (Dark Angel) Now: Dean Winchester (Supernatural)
Then Jensen
In the year 2001 Jensen Ackles popped up on my hot guy radar when he appeared on Dark Angel. Since I never got around to watching that show, I have no clue what his character was like on that show. But I was aware a good looking guy on that show (as well as a scary looking mutant and another guy in a wheelchair) I think I heard that Jessica Alba's character might have hooked up with the mutant and wheelchair guy, but not Jensen. If that's the case, wtf. That makes no sense.
Now Jensen
Poor Jensen dropped 2 spots from last year. His rugged yet pretty boy looks can only carry him so far. It didn't help that his character on Supernatural this year turned into such a sissy. He better man up in the upcoming season or he might just be a goner next year.
4. Tom Welling - Then: Clark Kent (Smallville) Now: Clark Kent (Smallville)
Then Tom
When I first saw promos for Smallville back in 2001, I remember thinking "Oh my, look at the fresh-faced stars on that show. I must watch this! Even if the show sucks!"
Now Tom
The show sucks and I no longer watch it but this picture is still hot.
3. David Boreanaz - Then: Angel (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) Now: Special Agent Seeley Booth (Bones)
Then David
Oh man, I remember thinking David was quite the hunk back in 1997 as Angel on Buffy the Vampire slayer. Sure he was also rather brooding, but his muscles helped me ignore that aspect.
Now David
David's Seeley Booth has a more sunny disposition which I do enjoy. Unfortunately, you no longer get to see David's muscles as often, but you just know it's still there.
2. Kyle Chandler - Then: Gary Hobson (Early Edition) Now: Coach Eric Taylor (Friday Night Lights)
Then Kyle
Okay, I never watched Early Edition back in 1996-2000. I remember watching the show that was on before it though when it was airing in syndication on the family channel. I think it was Mighty Max or something. Anyway, Kyle looks pretty good in that picture though but back then, I probably just thought "Oh. Old people show."
Now Kyle
Now that I'm older and wiser, I recognize that Kyle looked good then and still looks good now. And the fact that he's now a great family man both in real life and on tv makes him all the more hotter.
1. Joshua Jackson - Then: Pacey Witter (Dawson's Creek) Now: Peter Bishop (Fringe)
Then Joshua
When Dawson's Creek premiered in 1998, I did not watch it. I thought it looked stupid. I don't remember how I finally started watching, but I do know the reason I stuck with the show was because of Joshua Jackson and his portrayl of Pacey. His charming, yet sensitive, sometimes clever, other times goofy nature made me swoon.
Now Joshua
I'm so happy that Joshua has returned to my television screen. He has aged well. He's so debonair. I was originally gonna debut him at #3 on my list, but all this nostalgia has shot him straight to #1.
Honorable Mention
Ben McKenzie - Then: Ryan Atwood (The OC) Now: Officer Ben Sherman (Southland)
I was very happy to find out that not only was Joshua Jackson returning to tv, but so was Ben McKenzie. Alas, Officer Ben is not as hot as Ryan. I think it's because now Ben talks with his badge and not his fists. Even so, he does occasionally rough up some perps, so he gets an honorable mention.
roezmahree made her list like almost 3 months ago. If you haven't already seen it,
here it is.
