So since I can't do anything until my Harry Potter Audiobook is finished burning all 15 CDs, an LJ post is in order. This one's a bit political, so if you're riled easily don't read it

also, the daily show last night had an awesome montage of people replying to your exact question of "what if John McCain dies?" and all of said something along the lines of "he's healthy! he won't die! don't worry, he won't die!" not anything like "Oh palin's TOTALLY competent." It was awesome.
Carol says a lot of the rumor mills are saying that the plan is to teach Palin the ropes if McCain is elected, and then have him drop out after four years but back Palin as the next runner.
Then, tada, the republicans have the first female president.
i heard drilling on american reserves will pay off around 2030, not in 10 years. so there's that. I'm just hoping for a less machiavellian regime hopefully.
Even then, if it pays off in thirty years, how much are we going to be paying for gas by then anyway?
I find a lot of the problem is that people are willing to keep putting off something we know is going to bite us in the ass because ... uh ... I guess people are getting rich off it?
Yeah, I feel you. I unfortunately met a few young people recently who are voting for McCain. I thought those people didn't exist, but I'm getting really scared. Watching the RNC makes me sad to be American, on the Daily Show they were interviewing some guy who was upset that they cancelled the first day of the convention because "a few people were getting rained on".
So yes, if McCain wins I will most certainly be applying to law school on Amsterdam.
What annoyed me is that I honestly felt that both Obama and McCain at the RNC and DNC didn't actually *say* anything of any real value. The more I learn about the conventions and the debates and people who run them, the more annoyed I become with American politics on both sides.
"You do the actuary tables, there's a one out of three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn't survive his first term, and it'll be President Palin. It's like a really bad Disney movie, 'The Hockey Mom.' Oh, I'm just a hockey mom from Alaska, and she's president. She's facing down Vladimir Putin and using the folksy stuff she learned at the hockey rink. It's absurd." -Matt Damon
We all worry about the same stuff.
And if he gets in I think my hideaway of choice will be Scotland.
I heard this on the radio yesterday. I also heard bits from her interview on ABC where she said she's willing to go to war if Russian invades Georgia (the country).
500 billion dollars we've spent on the war so far. How many other wars do these idiots think we can afford?

Apparently he googled Palin and she thinks that the war is God's plan. That scares me even more.
Shit, if he gets in, I'm fleeing the country. Not even kidding. The election is just in time for me to re-direct my culinary school applications.
