I could be writing a paper. Psh. I only have two this time. Easy.
So of course I'm surfin' the internets. Ingesting instead of the planned regurgitation. Ah well. Soon enough, e-friends.

So.
I lost fifteen pounds over finals week. I was too small for my tightest jeans. I've probably gained back ten of those pounds since the graduation ceremony last ( Read more... )

I fucking love of montreal.

anywho. also go Pete and Pete and all early Nick.

also. what about Easy Rider
or Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maitenince.
and On The Road
and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
and Dr. Naragon said this awesome thing that he said he stole, but anyways, it was: "the car brought dating off of the front porch and into the back seat"

you could talk about drive-ins
and the assembly line--less value of labor, not about working, about making money.

sorry. got carried away on the cloud of your awesome thesis idea. not really. yeah i did.

Yeah, I don't think it's the type of thesis I would want to write, and much too large at that, but those are pretty sweet ideas.

Naragon's line is from Bruce Springsteen's "Thunder Road." Which would, of course, be included in this hypothetical thesis.

but who's to say it couldn't have parts that are just a blitz of suggestions type-broken-off left out to dry to hang to meld. Not lists, but more like wikipedia trails. Make your committee work hard to figure that shit out.

the cinematic technique employed in "spun" as far as the brown volvo is really interesting: there are physically impossible snapshots of the isolated engine parts in action, and the so-elusive driver's perspective, night road headlights shot. the car is also vital to the entire plot; the story would not exist without ross being the meth cook's driver, and i'd say maybe 15% of the movie is filmed in the car.
