The prince, regal, in command.
The head of his army, cool, dutiful.
It could not be said that the prince was anything but devoted to his country, the people. He listened to all the reports carefully, took all recommendations into consideration.
The head of the defence force was extremely competent, but it was generally believed that he had no passion, no love. Only duty.
The prince gave his orders, his face full of the responsibility he felt. The head of the army always replied “As you wish.” His face was coldly neutral.
At night, in his bedchambers, the prince gave his orders, and in a steady, loaded voice, the other man replied. “As you wish.”
