2metaldog, who asked for Trigun, Vash/Wolfwood, and the prompt 'discussion of who is the snappier dresser'.
Summary/Excerpt: “Well, I didn’t come out here to keep you from getting blown up, even though that’s what happened. And it made me realize that I’ve also saved your coat. And it’s difficult to bear the thought.”
“Do you want to know something?” he asked, looking down into wide, deceptively innocent green eyes. His tone was serious.
“What?” The blond was equally serious.
Wolfwood stood, dusted off his suit and shook his head. “Alright. If you want to know. Your coat…”
Vash looked down at his own rather dusty body.
“…looks stupid.”
Vash was on his feet in seconds. “That’s what you say?! After coming all the way out here?!”
“Well, I didn’t come out here to keep you from getting blown up, even though that’s what happened. And it made me realize that I’ve also saved your coat. And it’s difficult to bear the thought.”
A gloved hand reached out and flicked the lapel of a dark suit. “Now I’m thinking of all the times I’ve saved this suit.”
“Ah…but that’s doing the world a service. No one wears a suit like I do.”
“Lucky for them…”
“I know you’re not saying I don’t look good.”
“Not at all. It’s just unusual for a priest, isn’t it? And maybe a little strange for everyday wear on a desert planet…but I have to admit, thinking that way, it suits you.”
“There’s something about that comment I don’t like. Anyway, what about that coat on a desert planet? You make people sweaty just looking at you.”
“I make you sweaty?”
“……I didn’t say that. And red…you’re way too conspicuous.”
“Well, I’m not carrying around a fashion accessory as big as I am…I’d say that’s conspicuous. Though, if you really feel the need to show off something so big, I suppose it’s alright.”
“I definitely don’t like that comment. But seeing as it stems from jealousy, I’ll forgive you.”
“I’ve seen your cross many, many times, Wolfwood. I’m not jealous.” Vash grinned. “We’ve both got impressive fire-power. No need to compete.”
“I meant, how good I make this cross look. You have to admit I pull it off well.”
“I have to say you’re the only man who would wear that.”
“You mean who could wear it.”
“That’s more what I’d say about myself and this coat…”
A few yards away, behind some rather large boulders, two gunmen waited impatiently.
“…did…did they forget we’re here?”
“Maybe they want us to think so.”
“Let’s just take them, then.”
“…we should be careful. There’s something not right about them.”
“Because they haven’t opened fire on us yet?”
“No. It’s just….did you see how those two dress?!”
