Where were we....

So the last time I posted it was almost April, and I was speculating on how things would be much better with the coming of the new school year and my return to teaching middle schoolers. In short: I was right.

I keep forgetting that Tumbling is a musical... (o_ _)o I'm looking forward to it and hope that we are pleasantly surprised. XDDD;

At least it's got actors that we really like in it, including some Amuse boys. XD;

You've been waiting to use that icon, huh? amyused May 19 2011, 06:28:42 UTC
Yeah, and really, I was amused enough by the actors last time that I'm sure it'll be worth it. XD; But, I'm still betting it'll be crap. XD

Most definitely. XD imma_holiday May 19 2011, 06:38:36 UTC
I'm pretty sure this'll be my first time seeing all of them live. I'm excited, but I can't say I have any level of hope for the story or the random music inserts. If they're smart, they'll just let the boys dance instead of sing sappy solos about being crippled and/or deviant. ^^

Musicals~ I still need to see Les Miz period, english or otherwise XD I keep hearing wonderful things about it but I don't actually know the story or many of the songs. Also, please tell me how the Tumbling musical is XD the last one was...special, to say the least, but hopefully they'll take after kuroshitsuji and have a steep learning curve?

I'd recommend it in whatever language you can find it, though I think it's best when Abe-san plays the leader of the rebels and Fujita Rei is a random choir member. XD ♥

Special is one word for the first Tumbling. Bad is also another way to describe it~. But that's not to say I didn't enjoy it; I very much did. 8D I'm at least convinced that for this one the actors will be awesome (even if the characters they play are less so), and the boys will move very prettily. Anything more than that will come as a very pleasant bonus.

The trick is finding a musical version, either playing or recorded - I think there's a film somewhere but I think it's just a movie, not a musical.

XD yes, well...they tried. I enjoyed the obvious stereotypes in a vaguely horrified way. and at least the dancing was fantastic though I am extremely amused that they keep recycling the same routine for the main team. I guess it saves having to choreograph a new one, but really? XD

Yay, I'm glad you saw Takarazuka!! I barely knew any Japanese so could not criticise the storyline at all, but ohhhh, I was a squealing mess. Matobu Sei just stole my hearts ♥

I'm glad that teaching's going well this term. ::nod:: I wouldn't've ever thought that teaching middle school would be easier than anything (I have serious respect for anyone who deals with people from that age group), but I can see your point about being more of a teaching aide than a teacher. Also really cool that you're getting to know the art club students!

Ah, Les Mis. I haven't actually seen or read it either, but I've done so many medleys and songs from it it's not even funny. Seriously, I think I did two in 7th grade, 1 in 10th grade, and sung two songs for it in voice for college. It's on the list of musicals I should probably see, since I can sing some lyrics from several songs and hum the tune to others.

At any rate, nice to hear an update from you, and glad things are going well!
