KEYWORDS V. ACCURATE

O-okay, so! Guys. I am playing Tao Ren now, and that is AWESOME, I'd forgotten how much I'd loved the tsundere-retard shark till I started canon-reviewing for him! And I'm really happy to have him! But I have run into a particular roadblock that I hadn't even thought about until I started ninjaing him around, which is his ultimate and ( Read more... )

Hmmm... Find someone who is a horrible top and will step in and whack him when he incites combat with super-powered guys?

I have one of those in canon, actually!

Sorta.

Well.

He'd be disappointed in me if I did anything really stupid. :| Worst comes to it, I can always use the Medicine Seller, I s'pose. XD

Well...kinda brain dead right now orz

Use this chance to explore how much Bason is to your character? Letting him take out his anger- only to fail- is good too. It'll have him appreciate, have more moments of ; ; when he meets him again?

...i'll try this again when my brain's working. :|

NO ACTUALLY THIS IS GOOD. I really hope I get one, but. I know canonically, Ren doesn't actually stop and think very much about what Bason means to him -- it's just a sort of always-taken-for-granted thing, and even when he stops just sort of. Using Bason, there's no real shift in it.

Ren's not the sort to actually be self-aware except when it comes to fighting, so. THIS SHOULD BE A GOOD OPPORTUNITY. Thank you, hon. ♥

THIS IS EXACTLY THE SAME SITUATION I WAS IN FOR THREE WEEKS \o/ Devit and Jasdero have like, literally never been apart, Devit was here alone, he's powerless without Jasdero, he still picked fights because he's an asshole who hates humans and thinks he's better than everyone, he takes out all his aggression in beating the shit out of people ( ... )

4. Letting your character suffer. Not everyone wants their character to DIE or get maimed or anything! I didn't, and I managed to avoid it. But Devit had a really shitty time of things for awhile there because he fails and when he fails ALONE he can't back it up, not to mention that not having Jasdero feels to him like having a hole in his head. But it was really interesting to play, too. He broke down on people and raged and cried and get abused like CRAZY and it was awful but it worked out, he met some awesome people out of that and he developed a little. Plus I just like playing crying pussy Devit :( And most of the time once they've experienced some of that, things will start to get better on their own. Let them learn by getting topped or whatever. The introductory feeling of "RAR I'M TOO WEAK TO FIGHT ANYONE HERE BUT I WANT TO KILL EVERYONE!" . . . goes away, ICly, after some experience with that kind of thing. XD Devit had learned enough to say "Later, we'll fight later" by the time he met Agito, and Devit's dumb ( ... )

YOU ARE SO HELPFUL AND I LOVE YOU ;o;

I-it sort of helps that Ren's personal jesus (haha) IS in camp, so there's already been one thread about Ren being >_____> and Yoh being |D about the missing ghosts, so. At this point, I'm hoping that Yoh and I can conquer timezone fail soon and have a bit more jesusing going on -- though in the meantime, I think I'm going to let Ren get into more trouble than he has been. My biggest problem is that I didn't really want him to get into terrible trouble/fighting/killed before he was. Actually introed. AFTER THAT I DON'T MIND AS MUCH.

THIS WAS ALL VERY VERY HELPFUL AND I AM SO TAKING THIS ADVICE AND SAVING IT and. Applying it once tinyshark has had his share of intro violence. \o/

Learning an alternate one eventually is good--also, I find in situations like that (Nita without Kit, for example), keeping a timeline of "oh, she'll think about it for a few days, be depressed for two weeks, then let's see if I can get folks to drag her out of it" really, really helps in the long run, so you can keep playing them.

The thing is, Ren actually IS a good hand-to-hand fighter -- he's fast, he's strong, and he's got skills to back up his arrogance. But he also is in a position of OVERestimating his abilities, because a lot of it was augmented by Bason. So.

I think what I'mma try and do is see if Yoh and I can conquer timezone fails so she can jesus me if necessary. :|b Thanks for the advice!

I agree with everything Tmoo said and also want to say that Emiri works well as a cracky intervention in any situation, should you ever need one, I'd be happy to throw her out there.
