so i'm back from national recognition week. in general it was pretty boring-- lots of speeches and standing around waiting for things (usually in high heels, which was painful). the most memorable part was sunday night, during the HUGE thunderstorm, when we were eating dinner at the mellon auditorium. this is evidently the lowest point in dc, ( Read more... )

hey mihan -- i know this is kinda random but i was curious, did you ever end up picking another book to read, and if so, what and how is it? (ps sorry about the muck!!)

hey kristjiana! i haven't actually made it back to borders to blow the rest of my gift card, so i've been reading stuff i already had... the last thing i read was the woman warrior, which was AWESOME, and now i'm reading bait and switch. i'm also reading fear and loathing in las vegas, which is really funny and good, but i've only been reading it in little installments because it doesn't have much of a plot line and it all seems like one drug-addled haze if you read it for too long. which is kinda the point, i guess =P

I want to see those pictures! Post if you can find a copy of them, it sounds insane. Yeah, I didn't go through with the Presidential Scholar thing, because I really didn't feel like writing yet another essay at that point.

yeah, that application sucked. i ended up doctoring a bunch of my college essays to fit the questions, but that in itself took a lot of time... i still haven't found people who've posted pictures, but i'm looking!
