Despite showing signs of improvement, late Sunday night my cousin's brain began to swell. CT scans showed that the tissue had been permanently damaged, and she fell into a vegetative state. There's nothing anyone can say to make this better. There's nothing anyone can do to make the time go by faster. I wish I could be there to help you through this, even if the only help I can give you is to sit there silently or give you a hug.

You're a strong person, and if it were me, I don't know if I could get through what you have to deal with every day.
