So maybe this is melodramatic but it really made me think yesterday. I do say the words 'I love you' quite often and I mean them always when I say them, I understand that others cannot or choose not to express that in return and when I say it I never expect it returned, that is not why I say it and I understand people express love differently and ( Read more... )

On the flip-side, some people say "I love you" with reckless abandon, with little regard as to the meaning of the term "love."

I get angry/miffed/upset when people don't say hello back to me. I can imagine how you feel about your situation.

Many hugs and much love,
Jer

Yeah, I know there are people like that, with certain people it almost becomes an understanding, we like saying we love each other and we both know it's true so we'll say it. I love easily, I think the biggest problem with most people is they don't understand the vastness of love, degrees and types, love isn't always this overwhelming earth shattering emotion.

It just troubled me that they could express it so openly to someone else but with me they seem reserved when as I say we are best friends.

It is puzzling. I think that what matters is this: do they show you that they love you by their actions? Do they want to spend time around you? Do they value you and honour you in the things that they do? Sometimes that's the best indication of how they feel.

Nevertheless, it would be nice to hear it in words, too, wouldn't it.

Yes, I know in my heart both of them love me, they do express that in other ways, it was the issue of ease that they expressed it verbally to others. I guess to some degree I expect people to be like me, I show it in actions and verbalize it.

Everyone is different, and sometimes people have a harder time telling those they care about and for the most how they really feel. I can understand how it makes you feel, but I'd encourage you not to preoccupy yourself with it too much. You're more in tune with your feelings than many people. Some of us are stoic bastards, after all.

Like I said to someone else I think it is just understand the vastness and degrees of love, I can verbalize and show love very easily because it isn't always this all consuming emotion, that simple care can be a form of love.

Stoic bastards hehehe, you make me laugh Jamie -HUGS-
