whilst idly browsing onlline one day at the office, I came across a fabulous cheapo air ticket website for flights originating in China... saw a ticket for Sydney for 500 bucks, and then contacted a friend (who lives in Brisbane) to see if they wanted to put me up for a week (he lives near the beach) and his response was to buy me the ticket from Sydney to Brissie... so yes.
now I'm in a cafe at the Shanghai Pudong airport, making use of the random free wireless and eating dim sum and ginseng tea... damn this feels good. (I've neglected all opportunities for vacation for a very, very long time, and while I am using up half a month's salary on this trip, at least, it is worth it).
most assuredly *not* the best you have to offer, though the fact that I don't have to chew the air is more than enough to make me think of Australia as paradise ;)
