Aw. I agree about Kid. Actually, sometimes Kid and Tamaki (from Ouran HSHC) overlap in my mind because they're both very goofy characters and have these moments of spazz!panic. And Miyano Mamoru himself is made of ten shades of brill. I mean, the "HELP ME!!!" cards he made for the Soul Eater DJCD still make me laugh every time I think of them. XD

I'm glad you found happiness where you are now. :) I'm not a believer in Christ as my personal saviour, but I do believe we all have a purpose for being here, and it seems that you're on the path that's right for you. Incidentally, your comments about Singapore reminded me a bit of Japan - conforming to the norm that the country has set up is very much expected and though things are improving a little, it's still a very regimented society in a lot of ways. I blithely choose to ignore a lot of the stuff I can't take (I'm good at ignoring things that don't fly with me) but I will admit that by doing that, there are some parts of Japanese society I'm automatically excluded from. Ah, well.

Yes, Miyano is so full of crack... I listen to his radio programs and he's always *there*, laughing his head off. I like laughter. Mad laughter. :)

It is possible to ignore, I just find it harder to ignore when my parents + friends are involved. I can ignore such conformity when I'm AWAY, or if I'm in Singapore but without the relevant players. It's not like they're mean or terrible people, but like everyone else, they had to conform or sink, so obviously they want the best for me too.

And I'm like, "Screw this, I'm leaving."

Yeah.

How interesting! Tell me more re: this bit about being automatically excluded from some parts of Japanese society!!

Hiya! This is grey_damaskena. I'm sorry to be leaving you a comment so randomly, but I dropped by because you're a member of the saiunkoku community. I just wanted to let you know that there's currently a poll running on the community to gauge interest in getting the Saiunkoku Monogatari light novels translated into English. The number of answers in the poll could very well determine whether or not we ever see an English version of the novels. So if you have the time and have not done so already, we would really appreciate it if you could take a few minutes to answer it.

Please either drop by the saiunkoku community (the poll is in the third post), or click on this link to go directly to the post.

Thank you very much for your time, and for your interest and support of Saiunkoku!

Dear immortalization,

Thanks very much for your interesting blog. It's always nice to see how people on the other side of the globe live, how they share the same joys and sorrows, what they do in their free time, etc.

I actually have a question about your blog. Would you mind helping us with a linguistic research project? We're compiling data from various Singaporean weblogs. All it requires is checking a few boxes. If you want to take part and/or have more questions, drop me a note ( hack2301@uni-trier.de RE: Question ) so that I can then send you the 'official' project eMail. We'd really appreciate your help.

Thanks very much in advance!
Best regards,
- Fran
