Linksys Router or Windows XP? kevie October 5 2005, 19:18:44 UTC
If it's a linksys router that you are using:

Type 192.168.1.1 in you IE or whatever bar and when it pops up a password prompt, type "user" as the login, "admin" as the password. Then click on the advanced tab and go to the Port Forwarding tab. Type in your port and what IP to send it to, then you're done.

If it is Windows XP, go into the control panel and select Windows Firewall click on the exceptions tab then click the Add Port button. Type your port and then save. Then you're done with that.

Hope that helps.

P.S. I haven't forgotten about calling you so we can motivate each other to work out, but I've been kinda busy lately.

okay when i get the prompt and type in "user" for login and "admin" as the password, it doesn't authorize correctly.
i did go into control panel and click exceptions in windows firewall. i added a port named "slsk" since it's soulseek and put in the port number found in general options in the slsk program. hope it works now.
