Duncan... they were always in harm's way, whether they were aware or not. I've generally avoided mortal relationships, but you can't choose who you love. Anyone we love is in harm's way, mortal or otherwise.
Don't place limits on your heart, Duncan. It will only leave you more alone.
At the same time, though, if she hadn't seen me "die" like that... if I had chosen to just tell her the truth... if I had shown her what it's like to be Immortals instead of leaving her alone thinking I was dead for months...
Or she might have thought you were insane. And even if you showed her, she might have panicked and pushed you away. Would that have been worse?
There are thousands of possibilities, Duncan. Thousands of outcomes. You can't know how anyone will react. And unfortunately, there is a lot of secrecy in our lives. Can you imagine if the wrong person was told?

Don't be. It's not your fault.

The only constant in your failed relationships is you, Duncan.

I thought after that whole affair with Richie that we proved you weren't real. Don't tell me you're back from the dead again.

Richie who? And what are you blathering about? I wasn't dead in the first place.

Richie Ryan. You remember my student.
OOC: Sorry, I was assuming that we were using the past RP with Aramis/Richie/etc when talking about Faith!
