Finding how to do things for myself has sent me to some very, shall we say, interesting sites across the internet. Often, the consensus is to have a stash of preserved goods and weapons with a few blowhards claiming that with a gun and ammunition they can get whatever they want

I grew up a "hick" and a really hoping to get back to it. I miss our ranch, the garden, the animals, and last but not least the neighbors.

I've heard a lot of derisive BS from city folk about those rednecks up in the mountains, but to me they're a much better group than these down here.

So I've got a few months worth of food, water, fuel and sanitation down here just in case the SHTF before I have a chance to leave for a place I feel more at home. I'm not counting that as the goal though, the goal is to move back to a community rather than a city.

Shouldn't take too long for someone who is used to living poor to pay off those student loans, get an ugly old truck and save enough to buy 40 acres and build a house on it.
