Character Interview of Doom™
Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is she heavyset, thin, short, rangy?
Thin, wiry, definitely built like a runner.
2. How old is she?
Mid-thirties
3. Describe her posture. Does she carry herself well or does she slouch?
It depends on her mood. If she’s pissed, she tends to hunch forward a bit like a cat getting ready to pounce. If she’s relaxed, she tends to slouch or sprawl.
4. How is her health? Is she fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Fit. She has a runner’s metabolism which means she carries very little body fat.
5. How does she move? Is she clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?
Given her feline nature, she’s definitely graceful and fluid, even in human form.
6. How attractive is this character physically? How does she perceive herself in the mirror?
She doesn’t think of herself as a knockout, but she doesn’t see much she needs (or wants) to change.
7. Describe her complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?
Tan, maybe a few ‘beauty marks’ here and there.
8. Describe her hair: color, texture, style.
Long, dark, wavy.
9. What color are her eyes?
Dark brown.
10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?
I think the first thing people would notice is her height. Angie Harmon is 5’10" and lanky as hell.
11. What are her chief tension centers?
Forehead mostly. She’ll rub her eyebrows with the thumb and middle finger when annoyed.
12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does she have six of the same suit?
Her wardrobe is essentially the same as Nat’s: dark colors, utilitarian, etc.
13. Do her clothes fit well? Does she seem comfortable in them?
Do they ever. She can pretty much fit into damn near anything. The only problems she has with wardrobe are finding jeans/pants that are long enough & constantly wearing out the elbows in her long-sleeve shirts.
15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?
Has been known to go commando (shape-shifters and underwear don’t always mix)
Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?
Huskier than most women.
2. How does she normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does she talk easily, or does she hesitate?
She's very blunt and very snarky.
3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?
She mostly says “gawd" instead of “God", and part of that is my own personal preference. But there are a few “Texas twang" things here and there that don’t really translate to text. For example, she hits her ‘Rs’ pretty hard.
4. What language/s does she speak, and with how much fluency?
Nothing but English, I think.
5. Does she switch languages or dialects in certain situations?
She tends to draw out her vowels when she’s being sarcastic or snarky.
6. Is she a good impromptu speaker, or does she have to think about her words?
I’d say she sometimes suffers ‘foot-in-mouth disease’. She may not always think about what she says before saying it, and sometimes that gets her into trouble.
7. Is she eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?
I’d say she’s somewhere in the middle. If she has something big to say or needs to get a point across, she’ll start with “okay, look..."
Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is she book-smart or street-smart?
Street smart.
2. Does she think on her feet, or does she need time to deliberate?
Wildcat has her feline instincts to rely on.
3. Describe the character's thought process. Is she more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?
I’d say she’s half-logic/half-intuitive and definitely more practical.
4. What kind of education has the character had?
K-12, the last two years of high school were at a different school after her parents and sister died. Never went to college.
5. What are her areas of expertise? What, if anything, is she interested in learning more about?
Anything land-based that goes fast, she knows how to use.
6. Is she an introvert or an extrovert?
Doesn’t give a shit either way.
7. Describe the character's temperament. Is she even-tempered or does she have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?
Piss her off and it’s every square inch of your ass.
8. How does she respond to new people or situations? Is she suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?
Timid? Her? Oh, hell no.
9. Is she more likely to act, or to react?
I’d say act, for the most part. She’d much prefer to challenge people professionally or physically than have them back her into a corner.
10. Which is her default: fight or flight?
Fight. Definitely fight. Sometimes with deadly consequences.
11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does she appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?
I’d say it’s fairly dry and sarcastic. Sometimes self-effacing. Can definitely be off-color.
12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does she deal with them?
Probably an immortality complex, but that’s to be expected.
13. What moments in this character's life have defined her as a person?
Her parents dying in a car accident. She knew Leslie rigged the truck and when she confronted her, she lost her temper and that’s when she first ‘shifted’ into her cheetah form. Next thing she knew, Leslie was on the ground beneath her with her throat ripped out.
14. What does she fear?
Losing her head. End of story, do not pass go, do not collect $200. Oh, and snakes. Big, nasty poisonous ones.
15. What are her hopes or aspirations?
To live as long as she can.
16. What is something she doesn't want anyone to find out about her?
Doesn’t give a shit who knows what about her.
Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with her parents.
Loving, but strained. Growing up, they were always under the impression that she was the one acting out and being destructive. The truth was that it was Leslie who was causing all the problems and using Natalie as her scapegoat/whipping girl.
2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?
One sister, four years older and CRAPPY.
Leslie’s dead. Police report said ‘killed by dog’. That was the last good thing my godfather ever did for me: he buried the truth.
3. Are there other blood relatives to whom she is close? Are there ones she can't stand?
She doesn’t have any blood relatives.
4. Are there other, unrelated people whom she considers part of her family? What are her relationships with them?
Self-reliance, let me show you it.
5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?
Again. Self-reliance, let me show you it.
6. Does she have other close friends?

7. Does she make friends easily, or does she have trouble getting along with people?
Is very, very much a loner, and prefers it that way.
8. Which does she consider more important: family or friends?
I’ve already said I’m self-fucking-reliant. Get a clue!
9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has she been married more than once?
Look, if I have to repeat myself one more fucking time, someone’s gonna get hurt, and it ain’t gonna be me.
10. Is she currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?
*shifts into cheetah form, starts growling*
11. Who was her first crush? Who is her latest?
*twitches*
12. What does she look for in a romantic partner?
In a word: strength. He has to be strong both physically and emotionally. She tends to push and challenge men either until they leave (in which case, who needed them anyway?) or until they stand up to her.
13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does she relate to them? If no, does she want any?
Doesn’t want them.
14. Does she have any rivals or enemies?
Not really.
15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does she fall on the Kinsey scale?
100% Het. To put it bluntly/crudely, girls just don’t have enough balls for her.
16. How does she feel about sex? How important is it to her?
Still hasn’t found anyone who can ring her chimes loud/hard enough for a second go-round. Mostly the love-’em-and-leave-’em type.
17. What are her turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?
Again, strong men who don’t mind ending up with a scratch and/or bite mark or two or more
Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does she fit type?
Don’t really have a clue.
2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in her life?
Couldn’t care less about some old fart in the sky.
3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?
Is pretty much neutral all the way around.
4. How does she regard beliefs that differ from hers? Is she tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?
She tends to be tolerant, until someone starts preaching in her face. She might be tempted to test their faith by changing point-blank into her cheetah form.
5. What prejudices does she hold? Are they irrational or does she have a good reason for them?
Has absolutely no love for mutant alarmists. Would like to rip their throats out on public TV if she could.
Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is she rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?
She races fast shit for a living. As long as she has money for food, a hotel room and entry fee for the next gig, she’s good.
2. What is her social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected her?
I’d say she’s pretty ambivalent towards class/status thing, unless she's making fun of it.
3. Where does she live? House, apartment, trailer? Is her home her castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does she share it with others?

Bail money, property damages, fines
5. What does she do for a living? Is she good at it? Does she enjoy it, or would she rather be doing something else?
Hell yes, she loves her living. She gets to race fast bikes and leave the guys eating her dust. And the pay’s not bad either.
6. What are her interests or hobbies? How does she spend her free time?
Fast cars/motorcycles, running, rock climbing
7. What are her eating habits? Does she skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?
Me? Cook? What... you just want this place to go up in flames?
