They really need to tone down the goofiness. I liked the show when it was a darkish comedy about tired people that had interesting mishaps and weren't fucking every 3 minutes.
ETA: The new scrubs reminds me of that episode of scrubs where JD imagined the hospital turned into a sitcom and they intentionally made a contrast between how Scrubs was written and how regular sitcoms are written. The new scrubs is like the regular sitcom and it needs to stop.
I agree, especially about the influx of sex scenes. I don't remember there being so many close together in past seasons - or at least they weren't as noticeable.
It seems to me like the original relationships developed gradually over time. Turk actually had to woo carla, the relationship between JD and Elliot wasn't constantly in the bed room and got a chance to actually grow, even though Cox and Jordan were already married it took them years to get to the point where they even wanted people to know it. The current relationships seem really forced and annoying.
I feel like I can't make a real assessment of it yet. I do like that they are still including old characters, either as guests or just in conversation. A big complaint I have about "spin offs" is when they just ignore the history the character has built up.
I thought JDs brief stint was actually kind of terrible. I felt like they reverted his character back a few years. The whole time he was there it was just him desperately seeking Cox approval, and I thought he had finally grown out of that at the end of 8.
As for the newbs, I HATE Cole right now, but he has a few moments. Drew is probably my favorite of the new kids. Lucy is a little to mousy and insecure right now, but she might have potential.
I'm still tuning in, but I also kept up with "Joey" after "Friends" ended, so my standards are pretty low.

I'll definately buy it when it comes out because its worth watching in my eyes.
Out of the newbies Drew is my fav, hell Cole is even growing on me.
Denise and Turk are my reason for watching.
