He smiled as he saw Martha come back from the payphones.
"Everything all right," he asked as she approached.

"UNIT feed says we're somewhere in the London area, though some sources think we might've fled to Wales. I didn't call Jack, I think Torchwood's probably got a heavy tracer on it, and significantly better equipment if they've overpowered him."
She sighed. "Never thought I'd see the day where I couldn't trust a call to Jack, of all people. Just when you think things will go one way..."

"Oh, Martha, when have things ever really gone the way you thought? Besides, we can't really do much sitting here worrying. We're not in Wales, or London. Jack can handle things. The Brig will get the information, fix this."
His grin faded a little, his tone slightly more serious, "I promise."
He put the grin back on as he looked down the street in both directions.
"But, in the meantime we are in Paris. Entire city to get lost in. So, pick a direction, left or right?"

Left or right. Left or right. She looked down one, then the other. "Left." Seemed as good as the right, and they had all the time in the world while they were here.
What a different feeling, all the time in the world. She was used to holidays with schedules and timelines to see the allotted sights and activities during their stay. This was different. It was like a trip with the Doctor, but in a way it felt freer than even that. This was something that Nameless and her did together, not just the Doctor picking a location for them to go.
"We'll need to see the Louvre while we're here. And the tower. I've never been up there! But until then...left!"
