Everything I said in this post. Smallville has, in just three episodes, slid down a path of complete awfulness that it's not even recognizable as the same show. No, wait. It is the same show as the first seven, melodramatic, painful, angsty, crappy seasons. The hope that was the first tennish episodes of this season has been completely wiped out

I know exactly how you feel...about the painfully over-done Clark and Lana thing, and the whole Chakotay and Seven of Nine thing. I still don't get that one. Was it a last ditch effort to give Chakotay some sort of storyline? I found it icky and unbelievable. At least the books after the series seemed to straighten things out.

At least this season is shaping up to be awesome.

Oh, that Chakotay/Seven thing was such a betrayal. It was a slap in the face to all those fans who watched the show from day one, defending it to naysayers, and believing in it. All we wanted was one thing in return, and not only did TPTB not do it, they threw Seven of Nine at Chakotay. I gave up on Star Trek after that.

They fixed it in the books? Oh, that's good to hear :-) I haven't read any ST books.
