Hi,
I'm new here. I'm 29 and I've had 2 abortions: one in May 2000, when I was waiting to find out if I'd got into university, and one in 2005, shortly after I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Thank you so much for posting. I'm glad they went so smoothly for you.

I have a question for you, if you don't mind answering it: I was recently told by someone who lives in the UK that it's actually difficult to get an abortion there, that a doctor must say you can have one. Is that actually not true?

It is true that you have to get approval from a doctor - two doctors, in fact - but as long as you meet the criteria, they give you clearance to make your own decision.

You don't have to consult your own GP, thank God: the first time I got pregnant, I went to my GP and he was an absolute bastard to me. When he said "What can I do for you?" and I replied "I'm pregnant, and I don't want to be," he said "Oh you STUPID girl. You stupid, stupid girl." Girl?I was 25 years old ( ... )

I feel how you felt about your first. Im about to get my abortion im glad i found this site all i see is people who regret it and pro choice crap is all over the internet it makes me feel like a pariah. I hate this unwanted occupant i cant wait to get it out i want my life back and to take control of my future. Im going to take every measure i can to keep this from happening again.
