Here's more of that thing what I have started. Working on it when I can to keep me sane. So nice to hear from all of you guys after all this time!
The night that it happened, this is how it went. This is the story we all know.
James and Lily Potter resisted the Dark Lord. They fought, in The War, on the side of the light. James and Lily Potter and their child, the baby who would become The Boy Who Lived, resisted the Dark Lord, and so the Dark Lord wanted them dead, because they resisted, and because of The Prophecy. So James and Lily Potter and the baby who would become The Boy Who Lived went into hiding. This is the story we know.
James and Lily Potter had three friends. Sirius Black, who was a Pureblood, Remus Lupin, who was a werewolf, and Peter Pettigrew, who was nothing special at all. When James and Lily Potter went into hiding, they made Sirius Black their Secret Keeper, because he was the best and most dearest of the three friends. Sirius Black kept the Secret of their hiding, and this was the first Secret. This is the story we know.
In the story we all know, we know what happened next. We know that Sirius Black grew afraid that the Dark Lord would know that he, Sirius Black, who was a Pureblood and James Potter’s best and most dearest of the three friends, was the Secret Keeper. Sirius Black grew worried that he would be killed, and James and Lily Potter’s Secret would become known to the Dark Lord.
So Sirius Black went to Peter Pettigrew, who was nothing special, and in secret, they agreed to make him, Peter Pettigrew, the Secret Keeper instead. Because Peter Pettigrew was nothing special, the secret would be safe. This was the second Secret. This is the story we know.
But Sirius Black told Remus Lupin, who was a werewolf, about the second Secret. And Remus Lupin, who was a werewolf, asked Sirius Black, “Who else knows?”
And Sirius Black said, “No one. Only you.”
This is how the story goes. And the story, the one we all know, how it goes next, goes like this.
On the evening of the night that it happened, Remus Lupin, who was a werewolf, went to Peter Pettigrew. He found Peter Pettigrew, who was nothing special, and because Remus Lupin was a werewolf, he tortured Peter Pettigrew for ownership of the secret. And because he was a werewolf, Remus Lupin won the secret from Peter Pettigrew. And because he was a werewolf, Remus Lupin gave the secret to the Dark Lord.
This is what we believe we know.
And so the Dark Lord went to where James and Lily Potter and the baby who would become The Boy Who Lived were hiding. And the Dark Lord killed James and Lily Potter. And when he tried to kill the baby who would become The Boy Who Lived, the Dark Lord was killed by his own curse. This is the story we all know.
At the end of the story we all know, we know one more thing. We know that Remus Lupin, who was a werewolf, was afraid that Peter Pettigrew, who was nothing special, would tell the world that it was he, Remus Lupin, who had taken the second Secret and given it to the Dark Lord. So we know that Remus Lupin found Peter Pettigrew on a busy nighttime street in the city of London, and that Remus Lupin, who was a werewolf, killed Peter Pettigrew with a violent and powerful curse. We know that Remus Lupin was screaming and crying into the night, like a beast. We know that Remus Lupin caused an explosion on a busy nighttime street in the city of London that killed twelve Muggles, and that all they ever found of Peter Pettigrew was his little finger, which, at the end, is almost less than nothing at all.
And Remus Lupin, because he was a werewolf, disappeared. This is the story we all know. We all know that Remus Lupin is the Most Wanted Wizard in the world, dead or alive.
It is 1986, and this is the story we know to be true. This is the story we know.
