If Mordecai's glass pendant ever were to break, even the tiniest crack, his emotions will escape. They will desperately try to find their host again and once they find him, Mordecai becomes Mordes.
Mordes is his alter ego. A part of him that created itself to fight off the Death-essence flowing through his body. In the end this will cause both

Yeah, finally did another shoot with him. I had totally forgotten about the idea for this shoot.

A lot happens. Mordes acts on impulse whereas Mordecai acts on logic. Mordes was, at some point, the one who killed God out of impulse during an epic battle in Heaven. The angels had to find a new God and decided Ilya should be the one, since he was there when God died (they think he killed God actually) and he was a Seraphim at the time. A Seraphim is the highest rank and they are very rare. God only creates Seraphims in dire times. Gosh, it's so much info. @_@

Anyway...
After that Death (who is Mordecai's "father") got control over him again, extracted the emotions and put them back in the glass pendant. So Mordecai is alright now. :'D
