I'm kinda sad right now. I'm a big fan of Supernatural and the J2 fandom but I only read bottom!Jared (and bottom!Sam) which can be hard to find as bottom!Jensen seems the preference, nevertheless we have some AMAZING bottom!Jared writters, but as time's gone on we've some of our brilliant writers as their interest in fandom wains ( Read more... )

glad you sympathies, I was worried I was just being all moopey. I agree we need to focus on what they've given our fandom. But I still miss them. I'm holding out hoping that a break will bring fatebegins back to J2 with creative jucies flowing. We can hope!

It really depressing for me to see so many bottom!Sam/Jared writers alreading left this fandom.Originally,bottom!Sam/Jared writers are in the minority. And they are getting fewer and fewer nowadays.I understand there are so many creepy things happened in this fandom, and some fans treats other people who don't share the same idea with them like shit.Sometime I get tired of it,too.

I know what you mean *sighs* I agree we've always been in the minority but then amazing writers like insertode11 joins and fatebegins and now we're loosing them...I agree with you about fandom, it's a weird, creepy place at times but there are good patches. I just focus solely on the fic and keep FAR away from any of the gossip/wank etc, it's the only way you can survive here!

It's a little sad. Even though I do read bottom!Jensen. But I have the feeling that a lot of good writers leave fandom and good new fics are hard to find.

I'm still here, though. :) My BB is bottom!Jared - I'm thinking about letting them switch, but I don't think it'll happen.

And thank all the Gods that you're still here! I need my weekly fix of your stories (even if I don't comment the way I should).

I'm SO glad you'er still here! *hugs tight* your fics are a complete godsent, I'm almost even tempted to read your bottom!Jensen and swapping ones, that's how good they are!

I agree with on about good writers, they are virutally impossible to replace. I saw in happen in other fandoms and it's part of life but still sad.

I'm really happy your doing the BB again -and even better that it'll probably be bottom!Jared :D :D can you mail me to let me know what it's about? I'd be happy to do a banner for it (I know you'll have your own artist)

*hugs*

I see this in a lot in the various fandoms I've followed over the years. You generally get a few years where everything flourishes, and then it starts to fade as people move on. I love fatebegins and so long as she writes Glee and SPN fic, I'll be happy to read. I don't have interest in some of the newer fandoms like Sherlock (that seems to be growing in popularity right now), so I'll just enjoy rereading the older works of the writers that I follow.

What saddens me is when a writer leaves the fandom and the deletes all their previous work. I have no complaint when someone decides to stop writing something, but why erase what they'd previously done? It's like making a public disavowel of their time in the fandom. That upsets me more than anything else.

I completely agree with everything you said. Sums it u[p beautifully. I can only see to get really involved with one fandom at a time. I've dabbled in Harry Potter, Sherlock, Glee but none of them really hold my interest like the SPN/J2 fandom. It was the same with Lord the the rings, I was really into the Viggo/Orlando and the same happened as the writers started to leave.

I agree with you about deleting fics and/or journals. Actually what I find *really* sad is not only when they delete their fics but when they won't even let other people share them out. What is the point of that? If you have issues with privacy the internet *really* isn't the best place. I just can't understand why people do that, it seems a bit...mean.

I get fandom, especially this one can be a warped place at times but it's also an amazing one too

I know what your saying, it seems like even though the show keeps getting better and there is far more potential for good spn fics to be written and a lot of reason for even better J2 fans are running for things like Sherlock and The Hunger Games now.

I am sticking with SPN and J2 because no matter what I love this show and our boys..

I write and read both bottom!jared and bottom!Jensen because I believe in switch hitting but bottom!Jared/Sam just seems more natural for some reason, maybe because Jensen is older or he is the more mature character..

Here's hoping new people find SPN in its waning days and we get some more good authors..
