And so the laziness goes

So I'm sitting in Bern not doing enough for school, but that's nothing new. I've been reading a lot, finished the last Mistborn book in only two days (which is very quick for me since I'm a slooow reader) And just started on the first book of the Dresden Files. (Sorry moeshas , Your Urs Widmer books would've come first but I didn't take them to Bern. They ( Read more... )

I don't know if I'm going to actually read the last Mistborn. I was disappointed by the second book and I seem to be putting off buying the third one.
Personally, I prefer Dresden than Mistborn. I've read better mysteries, but I like Dresden's character and the fact that his characters aren't invulnerable. Plus, I usually can't stand vampires or werewolves and he made me pause for a second in my prejudice.
Though I might be biased about it all 'cause I read the Codex Alera series (high fantasy) first and he really sets a good pace in that series.

Where are you with Robin Hobb? Gave it up?

"Yeah. So. We had a nano meetup."
Haha. You are most astute and voluble.

Last Mistborn book... I'd like to tell you differently, but I didn't like it very much, though it was better than the second one. The awesomeness of the first one just isn't there, though, it's such a different book. (If you're into anime, try watching "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann" sometime. It captures the spirit of the first book perfectly. It's a very similar story, even though it has giant robots in it) Anyway, I say wait for the softcover or borrow it from me.

Gave up Robin Hobb? Far from it, I just didn't get to buy more books yet because my to read pile is too big. I loved Ship of Magic a lot and there's no way I'm not gonna go for the sequels.
