To go forward or backward? I have certain ethical doubts about travelling back in time. It seems there would be a 50-50 balance between events that you would want to go back to experience again, and events that you would want to go back to change, and the morals, let alone the physics, behind that would be wrong. You can't and shouldn't change what has already happened. Even though I'd like to try. But to go forward, and return to no earlier than your own time, that would be awesome.
i have doubts about time travel as a possibility. the ethics of it, yeah, whoa man. have you ever read the time traveler's wife by audrey niffenegger? because it is AMAZING and i think you would like it.
but really i just kind of wish my life was the same as it was last year. i wish i could go back to that. or, since i can't (OBVIOUSLY) i would like to maybe just go back and sit in on it all over again while the current time keeps moving and passes me by. YOU KNOW. also i wish i could jump to may, 08 when i have my masters and can move [to maryland]. THE END!
Yeah, an anchor in the stream of time, if you like. I guess that's what memory is for. I get the same kind of nostalgia for being 18-19, and pre-nostalgia for when I've graduated and moved back to the States to work for a bit.
But don't you hate to wish away time? I find myself wanting to move on and be done, but I often force myself to stop and enjoy the moment. As much as I want to be done and gone, there is grace here, there is something worth noting. Just a thought.
