Prompt 2 for relativeprompts

Down went another shot of vodka. She cringed a little at the taste, shivering with delight. Dublin, Ireland was the place, and there was another long night of conning ahead of her. Grinning brightly she had the bartender fill her another shot glass and took it down much the same as its predecessor. The bartender watched, obviously amazed and intrigued. The young woman seemed to be able to hold her alcohol well, since she had downed about 10 shots now and wasn’t even tipsy.

“You a professional, miss?” He inquired, his voice thick with an Irish accent.
“Depends on what you mean.” She answered flirtatiously and winked, offering him one of her playful smiles. Shaking his head the bartender left as another man down the way called for another drink. Rolling her eyes Kalli turned a little on the stool she was seating upon, dark eyes scanning over the dimly lit bar as she nursed a glass of water. Sure, she could hold her alcohol well, but she didn’t want to take the chance of having a hangover in the morning, especially if she had to make a quick get away.

Ireland had been over-all unsuccessful thus far. This was her last stop before she made her way to the states and she had only conned a total of two people, and only for a good 35 thousand. It wasn’t bad, but she was capable of so much more. That’s why she was determined to find the perfect victim tonight and maybe, just maybe score herself a new identity. Being ‘Alexandrea Sarah Millcourse’ was getting a bit daft, and she had the ID long enough to know the authorities would catch on soon.

Ignoring the look over she was getting from the man now sitting beside her she continued to scan the bar. Her eyes landed on an older looking fellow sitting at a table alone in the far corner who was looking at her. Quirking a brow she shivered at the look he gave her. His body looked old, frail, but his cold steel blue eyes were something entirely different. They were wise, but had the fire of youth burning brightly in them. He motioned for her to come accompany him, and she did just that. Standing, her glass of water still in hand she weaved her way through the tables, coming to sit across from him.

“You looked like you were looking for something.” He commented his voice soft but was obviously strong. Watching her over the rim of his scotch he took a long drink before setting it back down on the table. “Like a new victim, perhaps?” Chuckling at the startled look he got in response he waved his hand dismissively. “Never mind that. I didn’t call you over here about it. No, you my dear are something special.”

Kalli frowned a little, eyeing the old man warily. If she had been in her right mind, she would have gotten up right there and then and left. But something about him kept her there, obviously interested in what he had to say.
“What d’you mean?” She inquired, brow quirking. “I’m just another daft person in this boring little pub.”
“Oh no no!” He exclaimed, laughing, which was actually a nice sound. Low, smooth, sort of like running water. It was a pleasant laugh, to be honest. “You are much more than that, my little dear.” Time Lady, he had almost said Time Lady, but she didn’t know, and he wasn’t allowed to tell her. Oh no, that was out of his range. No tampering with people’s personal timelines.

“Right.” Still a bit suspicious she finished off her water, drumming her fingers on the table as she leaned back in her seat. “So, any other reason why you called me over or did you just want to chat?”
“Oh, yes, thank you for getting me back on track.” Smiling brightly he seemed to be rummaging around in his pocket with his hand, biting his lip in concentration. Noticing Kalli tensed when he reached into his pocket, he laughed. “Don’t worry dear, I don’t have any weapons or anything.” He kept his voice low. Saying ‘weapons’ in the middle of a crowded bar wasn’t probably the best thing to do.

Finally, he seemed to have found what he was looking for. Out of his pocket he produced a silver pocket watch. It was a little larger than the average pocket watch, but quite elegant. Opening it, he gazed at the face lovingly.
“Now you see here, lassie, this watch.” He motioned to it, closing it and setting it on the table between them. “It’s special, much like you.” Winking at her, he chuckled when she gave him the, ‘you are crazy’, look.

“I want you to have it, lass.” He stated, pushing it towards her so it wasn’t in the middle anymore, but on what could be considered her side of the table.
“Why?” Kalli inquired, picking it up. There were odd engravings on the front and upon opening it, she found it seemed a lot more extravagant than any watch she had seen before. There were multiple different buttons, and more than just three hands on the face. “Is this a trick watch or something?”

He ‘tsked’.
“No, it’s a special watch, like I said. Special just like you.” Grinning brightly he let her look over the watch a bit more. When she seemed satisfied she closed it and set it down on the table, but didn’t move to push it back to him. “Now listen here my dear.” He stated, his voice dropping, forcing her to lean in if she wanted to hear him. “This watch isn’t yours to keep. One day, one day lass you are going to find someone. I can’t tell you who this someone is exactly, but you’ll know when you find them. When you feel its right, you are going to give them the watch, alright?”
“How will I know who to give it to?” She asked.
“You just will, alright lass? I promise. You’ll find that person and you’ll give it to them and all will be right. Promise me you will do that lass, eh?”

She seemed to consider it, and shrugged lightly. “Alright, I promise.” Came her answer as she took the watch and pocketed it.
“Good lass, good.” Offering her another bright smile he turned back to his scotch. Kalli excused herself from the table and made a bee-line for the door.

Whatever buzz she had accumulated from the alcoholic was gone now. Fingering the watch that was now in her pocket she decided she’d pawn it off at the next shop she found. It was nice, obviously rare and she could probably get something for it. With that in mind she headed back to her hotel.

“Merry Christmas, Fred.” Kalli stated softly as she watched Romana look over the watch she had given him. Being on earth so long, she had come to celebrate the holidays. Having explained the long-winded story about the old man in the bar in Dublin she was content to just be silent now, hoping she was right in giving him the watch. She had gotten that feeling the old man had said she’d get when she met the person whom she had to give the watch to.

“Kalli, love, do you know what this is?” Fred asked suddenly, seeming a little excited as he turned to look at her, blue eyes gleaming.
“Um, a pocket watch, right?” She answered, seeming a bit confused as to why he seemed so excited about the odd little thing.
“Well yeah, but it’s not just a pocket watch.” There was a pause as he stroked his fingers over the covering, before flicking it open.

“It’s an Eternal’s watch.”
