New character settlement: Raiden from MGS2

Alrighty, so here's the deal. I'll be posting my app tomorrow, but there's a few things that need to be filled in! He's basically "pre-MGS2" since the whole ending twist hasn't happened yet. Hopefully that will come up in canon sometime though. :D

What I have established so far:He was a child soldier recruited by Char during Zeon's war with ( Read more... )

I'm Char Aznable and I approve this message...Jack. Also you probably meant "fall for Raiden" in the last part, but Char is cool either way that sentence can be parsed.

Just as a note - we're talking about Char playing the emotional/plot role of Solidus Snake for the sake of this plot, though I will happily step back if we get a Solidus in this game for real. I figure they have roughly the same philosophy and plan when it comes to Sticking It to The Man - and the same bad habit of emotionally manipulating kids - so Solidus as someone who works for Char would work out very well.

What a weirdo. 8| OH WHOOPS LOL

It would be awesome to see a Solidus, but I won't get my hopes up haha. Char will play the role just as well! As long as Raiden is tied nice and good to some puppet strings, it's all fine with me.

You can make a support group with Quess and Gyunei. And then you'll have finally found someone more irritating than Rose.

Magical holograms are for sissies. MOUNTAINTOP TRAINING MONESTARY.

Yes I have nothing to do with this character. This message is still batman approved.

But VR Tr--er, magical hologram training is realistic! It's completely indistinguishable from reality!

In canon, I think Raiden would like old Batman movies.

You know, someone with sufficient mind-affecting magic could literally plant combat scenarios into Raiden's head to train him. That might be even more fucked-up than VR training is treated in canon.

Oh man. That would be crazy--and awesome. I could probably just off-screen that and say he does it in the background.

Oh, yeah, a ninja would fit well in Sawa since they prefer less overt forms of conflict.

Ohh perfect then. He'll still be in training for awhile though. Do you think some kind of magic-implant training is viable for Sawa? I'm still not 100% on how to transfer over the whole VR thing.

Oh, yeah, that would be fine! Sawa has a well-equipped military, but since they're fairly pacifistic they'd probably be more likely to use magic VR rather than real weapons, anyway!

Oh that makes an even better excuse. Hahaha
I'm going for a slight angle that it also to give him a diminished sense of reality/fear of death, since he's supposed to be like...a stealth agent, and all that. Won't do any good if he flees for fear. And that's the purpose in canon too Hope that works alright?
