True Blood...is not respecting it's Fandom.

*Firstly Up Yours El Jay for having a jacked up website and making my re-type this*

Secondly, as you might be aware I'm a big fan of True Blood and the books the show is based on. And this current season is supposed to be based on my favorite book of the series. So needless to say that I was very excited for tonight's season premiere; only what ( Read more... )

Aw it seems Alan Ball took other ideas about things (like Faeries) and put them in the show. Seriously though how can Charlene Harris let that happen then? Does she not have as much creative control as other authors do when their work gets turned into movies or shows (I'm actually thinking of both J.K. Rowling and She Who Writes of Sparklepires)?

Maybe the rest of the season will be better?

Yay weekend!

At this point all I really want is for the Eric plotline to be as close to the book as possible for the rest of the series. Which means fucking Bill better not get himself back into Sookie's life in any way that resembles romantic or there will be HELL to pay. I'ma give it until this next episode...possibly the third. And if it's still sucking after that I may just have to cut True Blood loose.

Which will be sad cause I needs all the summer tv shows I can haz.

Did you see the Entertainment Weekly covers? There was one with Sookie being with each of them (and I totally just almost wrote Sookie and Suki). It all depends on what gets good ratings and not what actually happened. Look at Tara and Lafayette. Seriously he should be dead (right?) and she should not be as good a friend to Sookie. However I think Lafayette is too fabulous to kill. Tara can go away.

I'm thinking of rewatching 30 Rock as I just finished reading Tina Fey's book.

I'll put forth an unpopular opinion, but I actually found the whole sparkly faery bullshit to be, well, bullshit. I think the audience of the show is too mature (and has to be, considering the violence, gore and sex) for the faery godmother Disney crap. Wasn't keen on the fact that we only got a glimpse of this new faery land that Ball has created, but I understand they only had so much room in the first episode to introduce the plot ( ... )

I wasn't wanting sparkly faeries because there's a fucking FAIRY WAR later in the books. In fact I'd of been kinda pissed if they'd all been happy Tinkerbell knock-offs. What makes me angry is that faeries in Harris' her grandpa...is NOT her grandpa. King of the Faeries is her grandpa. And that in my mind the way they read was always coming off a bit more like Tolkien's elves in that they generally find humans...beneath them unless they are like offspring of one of hte fae and even then they have to exhibit fae-like powers for the fae relatives to give a damn. Granted I haven't finished the book that the faery war happens in but to my knowledge they ALWAYS look like fantabulous other-worldly as opposed to Troll-ish other-worldly ( ... )

Awww, yay, I haz an army of phoenixdragons to smash things!!!!

It probably wouldn't have bothered me in the least if I hadn't actually read the books, but it just makes my inner fan RAGE because clearly HBO had their shit together with Game of Thrones because I haven't heard much fan-rage! from that contingency. So why the fuck can't they do this with True Blood????

Finally caught up on True Blood: have you seen the second episode? I think that's where all the questions get answered plus the plot device for the fourth book. Also is it sad I'm getting a little tired of Sookie? Like 'yay your important...but I'm kind of over your bitchy attitude to everyone.'

Also baby. Is he really a demon baby? Because seriously show I think we've gone through enough/that might be a little too far/he's too cute/oh all babies take the heads off of barbie dolls.

I haz seen the second episode. I'm still annoyed at the ridiculous amount of splitting focus with too many characters and the fact that Bill is fucking KING. *because honestly I HATE Bill and want him GONE!*

But I am excited for this week's episode to see how the BB Eric plot is progressing. I cannot WAIT to see Alexander play all vulnerable. *Seriously one of my favorite parts of the book is when they have a Fangtasia powwow in Sookie's living room and Eric is sitting at her feet, hugging her legs trying to hide from Pam and Chow*

I get the splitting, the show kind of did that to itself. Like "let's have a large cast and tell all the storiz!" and now they are kind of paying for it. See I have this problem: I kind of like Bill even though he's a dick but its mostly cause I tend to have a thing for guys with dark hair. Like I see how Alexander is attractive and very fun to look at but Stephen does it more for me. So my need to hate Bill is clouded by how much I would tap that.

I am excited too and probably won't get to see it till Tuesday but it should be interesting. My friend and I also went frame by frame through the preview to try to figure out what was going on. I also want to see Eric lose it and try to eat Sookie again after telling her she smells like sunshine.
