What's Okay To Mention Around Him/Her: Whatever you like! She'll mention all sorts of things around you. Some things will make her default to stabby.
Abilities: Stefan wrote a bit about LJ Smith vampires and what they doooo. I will C/P it here and edit it for what Katherine can do against what younger vampires are capable of.
* Vampires can't sense other vampires.
* Vampires prefer alcohol and caffeine, because it warms them. Often referred to as their "life blood".
* Stake in the heart kills a vampire! Vampires can also be starved, but that doesn't make them dead.
* Vampires can't procreate (DUH)
* Can't walk in daylight! Stefan and a few others are exceptions. Katherine is one of those others.
* A certain high pitch frequency can disable them.
* Vervain makes them weak and protect humans from their influence. Katherine has been sipping vervain for years and she is immune to its effects.
* They can compel people/animals (basically, hypnotism)
* The older the vampire, the more powerful he/she is - thus, if Damon was to attack Katherine in a straight fight, she would wipe the floor with him. If Stefan were to do the same without any tricks, because he doesn't eat human, she could wipe the floor with him and do her nails at the same time. Etc.
* Fire can also kill them!
* Accelerated healing
* They do have reflections!
* They can sleep and dream.
* They are ridiculously strong and fast.
* They can influence other people's dreams
* They can be overly emotional. In Katherine's case, melodramatic.
* They need to be invited in.
Notes for the Psychics: Her real name is Katerina Petrova. She has SECRETS IN HER SECRETS - she's a deeply secretive personality, with a mind all made of cogwheels, full of plans. Somewhere in there is knowledge of the thing she is running away from, and thus her master plan. I would rather we not go too deeply into this because I do not know what it is yet.
Can I shapeshift/bodyswap/spit at/step on/etc?: You can try :'D
Hugging/Kissing/Other non-violent physical contact: Sure! She'll initiate it sometimes. Though it might be violent-nonviolent physical contact. Especially if you're Stefan.
Maim/Murder/Death: If you manage it, you've probably earned it, so yeah why not.
Cooking: she's proficient. Probably nothing that special.
IMPORTANT NOTE!!: Katherine has an extremely volatile personality. She can be sweetness and light one minute and killin' someone the next, she's very mercurial. She has a habit of compelling people to either achieve her ends or just to get them to leave her alone, and in general she is mad, bad, and dangerous to know.
I am not doing a catch-all for CAN KATHERINE COMPEL YOU because I am probably going to get Damon to repimp the poll in Damon's journal and add CAN DAMON AND/OR KATHERINE COMPEL YOU because I'm spectacularly lazy.
