This was a fantastic story. You are a really great story teller! Felt like you did a great job taking some of the basic concepts of GW and creating a whole new story out of it plus doing a wonderful job keeping Heero and Duo in-character. And in the back of my mind I heard Gandalf saying 'keep it secret, keep it safe' instead of Cassandra but perhaps that was just me! Would love to see more from this story!! :)

Thank you! I'm so happy you enjoyed the story. I had a lot of fun writing it, especially creating the alternate reality setting. The "keep it secret, keep it safe" bit was a little nod to LotR, since the story did follow a quest-like structure. There are a few other little nods in there to other quests as well.

You've inspired me to commission a steampunk picture of Heero and Duo. I'll be looking back through your story to see if it suggests a good pose to me.
