This is really powerful. I don't completely get how the guy with the phone at the concert ties into the daughter texting and driving, but the raw emotional power pulls me through as a reader.

The device of slowly completing the text message is incredibly effective and visually evocative. I can imagine those words flashing or scrolling across a screen as the rest of your entry is performed or typed. Great choice there - well done.

I thought of this song, which doesn't address the death of a child, but does speak to careless death. You didn't specifically mention drunk driving, but that's the sense I got about the cause of death.
