Well, I'm not sure why they should still be airing these cartoons for young children when they can admit that they're from a different time period, when a different code of morals was accepted. Obviously they're just too old, and kind of outdated... ?
These cartoons are only still aired on Boomerang... that channel is more meant for all the old cartoons that our parents used to watch. Today's cartoons, in my opinion, are far worse than the older cartoons. Not just quality wise, I'm talking about guns and violence. It's alright for scantily clad women to walk across the scene and for someone to kick ass and shoot up an entire city block, but it's not okay for a CAT or RABBIT to smoke a cigarette. A CIGARETTE!! THEY'RE LEGAL!! I'd understand if it was marijuana, but it's not. And anyone who takes a cartoon cat or Bugs Bunny seriously, shouldn't even be watching tv.

These cartoons are art. They are part of our culture. They belong to society as much (if not moreso) than whatever Hollywood hack owns rights to them (including their creator, if living).
It's absurd and bothers me. I want to watch these cartoons in 10 years and think, "I used to watch these as a kid!!" But I don't want them censored to the point of just being able to see a cat and mouse chase each other for two seconds. The fact that these cartoons are so violent, escapes people, because it's not bloody. Jerry kicked the shit out of Tom and they show Tom die often, yet smoking is far worse than violence and death. Makes no sense.
