The best thing to remove cat pee smell is oxi action stuff. Like the Vanish thingie. The active oxygen or whatever it is made of nicely removes all kind of smells. Don't try bleach or ammonia because cats actually relate those smells with catbox.

Odormute and Anti Ickypoo are the greatest things known to man. Odormute is kind of the only reason I can deal with the fact Guido keeps pissing on the couch in the back room (I will spare you the "too many fucking cats in the house" rant re; dumb roommates). It's safe on most fabrics/surfaces and basically you just have to pour it on and let it dry up (can be used on fabrics/in dirt/etc). It's kind of expensive but fantastic stuff; a little goes a -long- way (dilution is like 1tbsp/gal). I'll see if I can't get someone in the house to front me a stamp to send you some.
