I'm spending all my free time right now working on building up some stock and putting up a storefront to try and sell some perfume to help me pay for the cost of the insane hospital bill I got dumped on me today ( Read more... )

Would you consider an etsy shop? I'm not sure how their site works in terms of taking a cut and whatnot though.

Yeah, there are fees and stuff with Etsy, so if you add up listing / sale / paypal fees I would have virtually no profit margin at all. There's another marketplace for artists/crafters/etc similar to Etsy that doesn't charge transaction/listing fees, I know someone that uses them to a decent degree of success. I signed up for an account and I'm working on that now. I might be able to add Etsy in later, since it's a popular site and would get more traffic.

I don't know what your area has, but have you thought about a local Saturday market? Even the smaller ones have quite a few people pass through and the fees are less for smaller areas/markets.

I know there are a bunch of small markets and stuff locally, and there's a local herb shop that sells a bunch of things like homemade soap and ingredients for homemade cosmetics as well herbs and stuff. I went there with my ex-roommate once, and they had a handout of things like classes and shops and events in the area, so I can check that.
