[ Personality ] :
Domon is, first and foremost, a martial artist and a Gundam fighter. He ran away from home at an early age, trained by the legendary martial artist and his school, called The Undefeated of the East. He became Neo Japan's top fighter, but he didn't stop there--he had a thirst for learning, to be stronger. He wanted to be on his own, to be able to depend on himself... this much is obvious. He met Master Asia, the Undefeated of the East and the former King of Hearts, and the man became his father figure more than his actual father for most of his life. Why Domon ran away is anyone's guess, but by the time he came back, he was no longer the afraid child who couldn't defend himself against wolves: he was the new King of Hearts, a title belonging only to those who deserve it, handed down to the next hand-picked by the Shuffle Alliance.

And he had certainly earned it.

He is certainly not that boy anymore. Domon can hold his own against some fairly crazy things: giant robots, giant PEOPLE, skilled fighters, and the crushingly painful process of learning to and mastering piloting a Gundam, which, according to canon, he had learned in mere months, although considering the Kasshu family's history with Gundams, he may have had advanced knowledge of their inner-workings from an early age. Still, that doesn't mean piloting one is easy! The Gundam system is a huge stress on the body, which integrates the user's body movements in a full suit to control the giant robot and takes a heavy toll on them in the process; those who are too young to handle it can even die midway suit-up by being crushed. Domon's strength is great, and usually, he finds a way to win. If he can't take you down with his hands, his feet, or his blade, he will take you down with his headband. Yes, that's right--it's one of the key features of Master Asia's, and his only pupil's style. They both are able to fight using ribbons or headbands, as well as training to the point of ridiculous strength, stamina, and speed. Domon is capable of moving huge rocks and cutting trees in half with a dull rusty blade if he concentrates.

As long as he is centered and his friends are by his side, there is not a single battle he will lose. He can't afford to lose, either, because as time goes on, the risks become ever more serious, from his father to his brother to then rescuing the love of his life, Rain Mikamura.

... But one of the key problems Domon himself has is that he usually gets himself into the situations that defeat him by NOT being balanced and keeping his temper. He underestimates his opponents, always putting stock in his Gundam or himself. Domon, usually very cocky and overconfident, believes he can win. Sometimes, he is correct. Though this confidence by the end of the series has backed off a bit, it's still there in ample amounts. Domon has every RIGHT to be confident, because if you defeat him, he will train against you until he does beat you.

As it's put by his Master, Domon shines the most against someone stronger than he is, and he will not lose.

However, even though he is the new King of Hearts, Domon is by no means invincible. In fact, it can almost be joked that every other episode he finds someone who, as long as they are not some random badguy he can beat up and are named, defeats him soundly and leaves him quite injured. Or they put up a hell of a fight and leave him barely able to win. As you may have gleaned from all of this, Domon has nothing of a life much outside the Gundam battle and fighting. His family worked on Gundams--it's really not surprising Domon wanted to become stronger. Perhaps all the times he spent crying around his brother created a resolve in his heart where he decided to stop being the child who always needed help, and he thusly ran away to train and become who he is today.

When he finished his training alongside Master Asia who disappeared on him (it lasted ten years after he ran away from home), he came back to his family only to find them destroyed. He was lied to by Ulube and Rain Mikamura's father, who covered up the truth of what happened. This lead him to believe his brother, Kyoji Kasshu, had taken the powerful Gundam his father and Rain's father had built down to Earth in order to conquer it, evil. His mother was shot in the process and his father, he was told, was silenced due to his involvement with the Devil Gundam project by the court ruling he be put into a cryogenic freeze. While this couldn't be farther from the full truth, Domon instantly accepts it as true, and when asked by the Government and Ulube to become Neo Japan's Gundam Fighter, told if he wins that his father would be taken out of his cryogenic state, he leaps at the chance without a second thought.

... That thoughtlessness and impulsive nature of his is one of the key problems Domon has; you might call it a critical flaw. For much of the series, he spends his time fighting and running after his brother, Kyoji, only to assume that every word he was told was true. In fact, he will go so far as aid a young girl in a fake kidnapping in order to get George de Sand, Neo France's Gundam Fighter, to battle him. He is brash and impulsive, and never thinks things through until it literally hits him in the face.

Even so, Domon tends to take those hits and give them back. As it's put in the series when he confesses to Rain himself, he's awkward outside of fighting others, impulsive and truly bad at telling those whom he cares for that he does care about them. He is only good at communicating through his fists. He believes the mantra Shwarz Bruder told him about (a clone of his brother, Kyoji, disguised and made of Devil Gundam, or DG cells); that communicating one's feelings through fighting is the most simple and true way to go about telling people how you feel, and that is exactly what he does.

When he says he is awkward with other people, this is because at first, he can come off as cold, aloof, and uncaring towards other people's business outside of his mission. Shwarz himself says that Domon is like a child who can only see what is in front of him, and that he generally fails to see how those around him are feeling. Everything usually goes AFTER his mission. Of course, his mission is to destroy the Devil Gundam and defeat his brother, Kyoji, as well as win the Gundam Fight for Neo Japan's right to rule all of space for the next four years, because then his father would be unfrozen. That Domon is harsh and uncaring (though he acts it, ill mannered and cold) couldn't be farther from the truth, however. It's simply that Domon has priorities and he has a narrow field of vision in the beginning, but he would still save a child in danger. His strong sense of justice usually overrides his sense of this mission, as is shown many times over with how he helps Neo Spain's fighter fake his death to escape, saves children in one town from a gang, and even aids Master Asia in protecting the people of Shinjuku (though this turns out to be a farce and his Master siding with the Devil Gundam), and even STILL after being betrayed by his former Master, Domon saves him after they're both attacked and trapped by a Gundam Head sent by Wong Yungfat... it says a lot that even though he could have left the man who was a traitor and broke his heart as his Master to die, he didn't--because he's soft deep down, and kind.

However, to see that side, you have to earn it in his eyes. Domon has a tendency to only fully respect people his age and older once he has fought them in a physical fight or a Gundam fight, as you can tell if a fighter's "soul" is in their fists when they battle you, something he well and truly believes after hearing the mantra from Shwarz.

He tries to act aloof and as though nothing bothers him, but it's quite obvious that when innocent people get involved he can't bear the idea, the same with underhanded tactics. Domon's brash nature has led him to put his fairly intelligent mind into rushing to ways to make his opponents fight him, such as disguising himself as a boxer and fighting Chibodee Crocket from Neo America in order to challenge him to a Gundam fight, and so on, doing things to break rules and regulations in order to fight his next opponent. Domon isn't stupid, but his impulsive nature and his dislike of waiting (he hates sitting still for any amount of time, he would rather be training) tends to make for a disastrous combination, usually making it appear as though he is a thick-headed brute who only wants to win, and only cares about himself. This isn't true, of course, and much can be said for once he finally learns to step back and analyze a situation, as he has come up with many ingenious on-the-spot plans to save people and defeat his enemies with ease when calm and level-headed, even managing to pull off the God Gundam's super mode with ease after training.

... Though he still has to be told much of the time by others to step back and not rush into things. It's especially obvious if you see Domon and his partner, mechanic, and childhood friend Rain Mikamura together.

Rain not only has the ability to tell Domon to stay put (though he still only listens to her half the time, much to her chagrin), but also to make him treat his injuries with a degree of seriousness, her being a Doctor by true profession. It is later revealed that Domon has romantic feelings for Rain, feelings he has trouble expressing and acknowledging until the very end when Rain leaves. Seeing as Rain isn't really a martial artist nor a fighter, Domon never properly communicates how he feels to her, instead stubbornly being silent and even yelling at her at one point when Allenby is used by Wong and then subsequently kidnapped without Rain realizing it. Allenby is a girl whom he had no idea Rain was jealous of, likely because he related to her quite a bit, both of them martial artists, and both in the battle against their will.

Situations like this happen to be where Domon's lack of social skills truly become a detriment to his relationships, both with his friends and with Rain, who he is wholly unaware that he loves, and whom he is unaware loves him just as much back. As he never acknowledges her importance much, Rain eventually feels her feelings aren't returned and by the end, leaves, though she has left once before, the result of the fight would see Domon realize her importance to him through Shwarz's intervention. This really does go to show that Domon is... pretty much all but a brick wall when it comes to anyone's feelings.

When she leaves, this shows us a side of Domon few people see: his codependency on his friend. He does not go to stop Rain until pushed into having no choice when she'll become the Devil Gundam pilot, simply because he wants to respect her choice to distance herself from him. Though it reduces him to sadness and apathy, his spirit gone, and many times he expresses distress and fear at the idea of Rain ever being hurt or losing her. The same is said of Master Asia. While Domon normally is very stoic, one of the few times he cries is when he is reunited in Shinjuku with his former master, and again when he dies. It is obvious that Domon cannot survive without his friends and Rain by his side, but as Shwarz Bruder, his new pseudo Master figure ends up telling him, Domon learns that this dependency on others is human, and that his friends and Rain are the most important thing in his life--that as long as you believe in your friends and ask for their help, there is nothing to fear, and no battle you can't win.

Domon's life involves fighting, training, and almost nothing else from the time he is young up until the very end of the series. To the extent that he literally does not know much else beyond it, in fact. He has common sense, though it does tend to get pushed aside in his eagerness to fight and win. While he eventually befriends most of the people he fights through that very attitude of eagerness, respect for other fighters like himself, a fairness during every match, and his strong sense of justice, he does not even realize how much he means to them until very later on; Domon is strong, and his determination to never stay down long enough to lose is what makes him a diamond, though one that is unpolished when it comes to basic life lessons and skills.

He is awkward, not realizing when he has made friends and being surprised by the fact he has them and fans, and does not actually enjoy his 'fame' as a Gundam pilot in the least. He prefers to be left alone with those he knows unless necessary. ... That said, he is also quite kind and compassionate toward people he trusts, children, older people, and animals, a side that is hidden beneath his gruff, usually rude exterior.

He not only befriends and aids an old man and his two grandchildren, but he even ends up staying at their boat during the Gundam Fight finals, going shopping with them and taking care of them. Of course, with adults, Domon has problems being nothing but cold or silent and the caring and kind aspect of his personality has to be dragged out over a long period of getting to know him. Usually, he is prone to silence, or being loud and impulsive. You might say he has a lot of problems with rules and authority figures because of that destructive, almost childlike nature; they tend to try to keep him from doing what he wants, and Domon doesn't like being held back by red tape. ... But that's different from children. It's quite clear that he honestly loves children of all sorts, and is quite taken to them, as children are innocent and easy to communicate with. The same is shown when he interacts so fondly with Fuun Saiki, Master Asia's horse. Animals are easy to understand, and respect. You might even say he is generally far less guarded and more at ease when around younger people, simply because he knows he doesn't need to do much to please them. If it's an adult, he usually never knows the right things to say, thus, says nothing.

He's prone to fits of anger where he breaks things, yells at people, and stalks off for even days at a time, stubbornly refusing to apologize because he hates to ever admit he's wrong, that he has flaws, and that he's weak at all. As Master Asia puts it, Domon gets all worked up over things, tending to lose sight over what's important. It's rare to find a smile on his face unless he is having fun during a Gundam fight. In fact, he very rarely laughs or smiles in the series sincerely outside of battle, the few times he isn't serious and is joking (he has a sort of biting, sarcastic sense of humor toward Rain and people he loves) is around Rain and his friends, or his reunion with Master Asia in Shinjuku. The last time he was truly happy was when he was tricked into seeing his parents alive by the Neo Japanese government in a simulation. This attests to how extremely guarded and scarred he is inside from Kyoji's actions and his past. Domon does not place his trust in people easily, because it has been wrenched away (Master Asia and Kyoji) one time too many for his liking. He would prefer to decide if you're trustworthy by fighting you and talking by his fists. Otherwise, you will have a hard time breaking through the cold outer layer without some persistence... and a lot of patience for the thick, hot-headed martial artist.

Overall, Domon is impulsive and aloof, oftentimes cold and distrusting of people he does not know, provided they aren't children. If you have fought him and beat him, or even if you haven't, you stand a larger chance of earning his respect and admiration. He is more than just brainless brawn; he is quick and fit, and he has his wits about him most times, except when excited by a battle, then his view can become more narrowed. Courageous and just, he is a kind and loyal young man who earned the "King of Hearts" crest on his right hand, even if he's a little bit socially awkward and rather crippled when it comes to expressing himself, he lives up to the "heart" aspect of his title in his compassion and concern for the Earth and Humanity. He often prefers distance and quiet simplicity to big, expensive and flashy. He appreciates the little things in life like any martial artist who has spent years training, but he's not really very concerned with courtesy or chivalry, and it can make him come off as pretty rude. However, in the end, he's a fighter and a person with only the best intentions at heart, even if his anger can become an unbending grudge, sometimes a tool to be easily used by those who are manipulative and wicked. He is flawed like any person despite the fact that he is strong, skilled, and fast, though he sometimes needs to stop to lean on his friends... even if usually, his friends have to convince him that doing things all by himself isn't what's best.

That's Domon. He's just your typical lone-wolf hero, and he doesn't let on to how much he really cares about the rest of the people around him... but you can be sure that once you're his friend, he'll be sure to admit it by fighting for you to the end.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :

STRENGTHS
• He has a lot more capability than the average human when it comes to his martial arts. I am not kidding, he can move and punch so hard and fast machines can't keep up.
• He can jump great distances and over things very quickly, as well as dodge just as easily.
• He can probably use his headband, like his Master, to destroy and slice steel and enemies in half, though he seems to have discarded the preference for this technique over his fists. Don't look at me like that it's a shounen anime
• He can perform a very powerful series of moves, but most notable is the Sekiha Tenkyoken, which is a projection of his fist/hand made of energy stored by careful concentration, taking on a variety of shapes, allowing him to fire at a distance or even (with another's help) move buildings. It can destroy or knock through walls, too. ... Yeah.
• He can use his rusty old sword pretty well, too. Yes, you heard that right, it's pure training and determination that he can cut through a tree with it.
• He can take a LOT of hits and get back up; he recovers pretty quickly for a human, though that... might just be his stubborn willpower...? SHOUNEN ANIME? MANGRIT??? IDK
• With a snap of his fingers, he can summon his Gundam, though this... is hardly relevant to Vatheon. He is also an extremely capable fighter in his Gundam, able to use a multitude of techniques related to his God Finger.
• Due to the time he grew up in and likely his family's background, Domon is very capable with technology (fixing his Gundam on the fly, tinkering here and there, and so on), though not on a genius or mechanic level, he can operate most tech fairly well, even though he prefers low-tech things.

WEAKNESSES
• He's impulsive and rushes into things if he isn't told to chill the fuck out and have a sandwich. (Not that he'll listen half the time anyway...)
• He can be easily manipulated or hurt if those he cares for are in danger.
• He is not the strongest fighter in the world! BY NO MEANS. Simply the most determined one to win.
• ... He is kind of at half his best without his Gundam, but he's still pretty strong without it.
• He has a tendency to freeze up mid-battle if someone is hurt, or a stunning revelation becomes clear. He also has a tendency to waffle on big choices involving people he cares about, and drag his feet, making him somewhat easy prey. Lol Shounen protags
• He is sort of every classic Shounen Hero trope, which means genre-savvy people would have an easy time messing with him.
• ... Once he is angry, he is hard to talk sense into. This is a strength AND a weakness, and considering his anger powered Shining Gundam's Super Mode... well... yeah.

[ Other Important Facts ] :

HE LOOKS LIKE THIS. He has an x-shaped scar on his right cheek, and the King of Hearts crest appears on his right hand. Also, the dull rusty old sword he carries with him? He refuses to sharpen it. Ever.

HE IS ALSO PRONE TO RANDOM HUGE ENERGY BURSTS AND BLINDING SPEED ALA SHOUNEN RIDICULOUSNESS AND MANLINESS.

[ Sample ] :

[ The SFC feed accidentally turns on, revealing a man with a long red headband and cloak, spiked black hair, black eyes, and a cross-shaped scar on his cheek. He doesn't look amused as he turns and notices the little red SFC on the ground, picking it up. He looks pretty frustrated. This is because Domon had a lot on his mind, obviously. Being kidnapped like this, after seeing Shwarz's face for the first time... the Devil Gundam was obviously still alive, Allenby had been kidnapped by someone, and that island held everything he needed to know, somehow? Rain would be waiting on him, and he'd promised... promised her he'd tell her something.

Because maybe for once in his life, this was one challenge he hadn't been up to at the time. Telling her he cared beyond being her friend... that he loved her. But the best time to tell her would be when he won and after he destroyed the Devil Gundam... he didn't have time to be stuck in this weird underwater place. And he suspected that the same people who had taken him had also taken Allenby, which meant... if she was here... this was connected.

... Or was this something else? A trick, by Master Asia or whoever else was with him? He couldn't be sure. So Domon decided to address the Network, in hopes that whoever took him would see his message. ]

Are you people the ones responsible for this? And are you the same ones who kidnapped Allenby Beardsley? If you are...

[ His eyes narrow here, his voice rising steadily. ]

... I won't rest until I find her and return us to where we were! And you won't get any second chances!

[ And with a sharp glare, the video feed cuts. ]

There is also a test post in the Vatheon dressing room here, although it is short.

[ Questions? Comments? Concerns? ] : IS THE FACT HE'S RATED M FOR MANLY A VIABLE CONCERN--

NOT REALLY. Did you think I was going to ask if he could bring his Gundam...? Nope! That'd be ridiculous.
