149 [He's been preoccupied and doesn't know what's happening yet]

Admiral, you naughty thing, there are numerous items missing from my cabin since its restoration, and you will return them. I cannot be expected to finish a novel when you're making off with bits of the manuscript.

If you wanted so badly to read it, you might have simply waited for the new chapter along with everyone else.

Marquis, that you are writing again is both unsettling and... heartening?

You're too kind, Monsieur.

If you have missed the previous two chapters, I have them archived in my journal.

I worry to find myself on your pages, good Marquis. My lapses in fidelity are far too well known.

All I require is your honest opinion.

And he would want your manuscript that badly...why?

I assure you I haven't the faintest idea.

Bit of light reading, perhaps?

I am rarely complimented for the lightness in my works, my treasure.

Maybe the Admiral is trying to tell you something? Either that or he doesn't appreciate a motivational morality tale.

Ah, ma jolie petite critique. I wondered when you might appear.

I don't speak French. [But he's probably going to go to the library to look up what the Marquis said.] And I'm simply disappointed that I didn't get to hear the end of your highly unbelievable story.

He called him "My pretty little critic" I think. impure_tale November 27 2010, 01:09:57 UTC
Then perhaps I shall speak it more often.
