[He shoved his DS into his back pocket and practically ran to the Marquis' room, frowning at the state. The door was still open, which unnerved him.] Renate? [He wanted to calm the dog down as he knelt down beside his warden, but...it seemed the dog was locked away. He didn't worry about it. There were more pressing matters.]

[The Marquis lay on the floor near the sitting area. His journal lay open at the small table there, which he'd been operating from the ground. His face is already beginning to swell from multiple blows, and a thin stream of blood runs from the corner of his mouth. His eyes seem to twitch behind the lids when his name is uttered, but beyond that he doesn't respond immediately. Renate's frantic barking gives way to whining as she scratches at the bathroom door.]
