The fairytales all say that the easy way out is the worst. Don't get curious. Don't go looking.

[He shifts, uncomfortable. Why is he trying to help the other passengers?]

Just--

I.

Monsters are real.

Wolves are real.

But not all wolves are bad.

[Mr Gazelle was a wolf. Mr Gazelle is good, though. Scary, but good.]

Some wolves have thick fur. You want to be careful.

[A pause, then Oleg sounds a little insulted.]

No. I have to eat.

Well duh.

You want some company?

[He really, really doesn't want to leave, but he's hungry and bored and it's a good excuse to make sure Oleg's safe.]

People don't like to be told what to do. They'll almost always go and to the exact opposite, especially if they're stupid.

And adults will look at kids and call them naive, just because they haven't been alive as long. Most people don't get it. So even if you're right, they won't listen to you.

[Softly.]

If they're smart they'll listen.

[Oleg considers this. Bass is speaking truth as far as he knows.]

I think you're right. People don't want to hear things from someone who knows. It makes them angry.
