Hey Sarah. Wow this entry made me feel so bad. I hope you know that I agree with what you're saying, and that I don't think that I am perfect, or that anyone is, for that matter. I know high school is really rough. I know I haven't had the same exact experiences as you, but I know how brutal it can be. You just have to remember that these people who make fun of others or exclude others are only doing it because their self esteem is so low that they need to bash others to put themselves on a pedestal. They are not worth you time, or any decent person's time. Just remember that you have real friends who will always be there for you and back you up no matter what the popular, think-they're-perfect, insecure jerks may do. This is just part of high school. It exists in such abundance because there are so many immature teenagers in school who still have a lot of growing up to do, even though, obviously, they can't see it themselves. Sarah... Your entry brought me to tears, perhaps because I am living here in an atmosphere with 90 other high school aged boys and girls who have these EXACT feelings. Tonight we had a moving, emotional ceremony about the No Discount Policy, which is central to the Upward Bound program. Basically it means to FULLY VALUE other individuals. The community here is amazing, unlike anything you could EVER find in high schools. Everyone feels comfortable and safe and able to BE THEMSELVES. There are no standards of "cool" or "uncool". No Discount is something these kids hold near and dear, and it is something that has changed a lot of them forever

Sarah hunny....holy shit! your entry definetly brought me pretty much to tears. Ya know what...most people in highschool are stupid ass holes that make fun of other people because they have nothing better to do. I've been in the place you're in right now and it sucks wicked bad! But you have awesome friends who are there for you if you need to talk including me. Ignore those people.
