Well I am now a college graduate. Graduation was a lot of fun, although hot and long and weird, since I never got to know anyone at Cowell. Hahahaha thanks! I'm not sure the horns match the unicorn shoes, but it's UC Santa Cruz after all.

Supposedly the socialists were going to be protesting graduation. Because why not? They protest everything else.

I've always thought it was weird for so many socialists to be in academia. (Except that, in academia, you don't have to get a real job, of course.) After all, school's about the best model for why socialism sucks. I once did a Socialism quiz where I took all the students' grades, averaged them, and gave them all the same grade. For each according to ability, to each according to need, right?

Lemme guess, they weren't too happy with their grades?

I really don't get the socialist thing either. I thought most of them grew out of it when they entered the workforce, but I guess it's pretty easy to advocate that crap from the safety of the ivory tower.

My favorite UCSC socialist story happened to my girlfriend when she was walking through the quad. A young man came running up to her thrusting a clipboard in her face and asked, "HELLO MA'AM! WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN THE SOCIALIST REVOLUTION??" Wow, I didn't know it was that imminent...or easy to join...
