OLD SNAKE | FISSIONMAILED RELATED

Old Snake

The year in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is 2014. Snake is older, and not just mentally either. The accelerated aging has progressed to an extreme point, and instead of looking middle aged, Snake now resembles a man in his late senior years. This holds a large part over his conscious, often times any mention towards it will help lower his Psyche Gauge slightly, which is not a good thing for the old boy. He's also not much of a happy fellow... Being a dog of war practically his entire life, finally finding some form of happiness with his best friend and newly adopted child (rescued by Raiden), and then finding out he's only got about a year to live... He feels his life has been toyed with. He believed in what Fox told him about not being tools of the government, but he tends to think on it a lot. Despite those words, he was created to have a limited life span, and when things would get out of order, he'd not have a chance to get out of it. He would die before others could use him, or before he could lash out at his creators. In MGS4, Liquid has finally been tracked down, and Snake is sent out by Campbell in order to defeat him once and for all. Snake is given an updated sneaking suit, which not only has cool features such as the octocamo, but it's also made of a lightweight material which will make things easier for Snake to accomplish... Otacon tells him to think of it as a sort of 'crutch'. This doesn't help matters, just frustrates Snake a little.

The point in time that I've taken Snake from is during the Paradise Lost section of the game, soon after escaping PL along with Big Boss's corpse and Big Mama. However, they were attacked by Raging Raven's forces, which ended up in a crash; Big Mama being seriously injured, and Snake having to go and face Raging Raven himself.

With this mindset, he was brought into the Nexus. He's shocked from information that Big Mama told him, he's confused, and somewhat paranoid. Always waiting for his next battle, he's been injured numerous times within the Nexus due to his own carelessness, as well as his (albeit denied) hungering for battle.

He's made several allies during his stay so far, including (though not limited to) John Miles (old_papa_john), Colonel Volgin (roarofthunder), Liquid Snake (liquidouroboros), Solidus Snake (viscous_serpent), Big Boss (jerkassdaddy), Hal Emmerich (crackthecodes), Old Snake (oldbeast), Sweet Snake (sweetssnake), Big Mama (cougar_78) (...)

Numerous encounters and injuries have led to Snake looking as he does in the Nexus now. He's got heavy bandaging on his right arm, heavy bruising on his ribs, and harsh burns across his body and on the left side of his face due to being electrocuted by Colonel Volgin. The arm wound was from his battle with Solidus, where he had his arm shot up... though in return he shot out Solidus' legs.

Becoming Vamp's target has made Old Snake a little more paranoid than usual, and has thus caused him to always wear his sneaking suit, no matter where he is. He's strong without it, but it's harder to move around and do flips and things that he's more capable of in the suit. (ie: it hurts less if he's in the suit.)

Practically every thread OS has been in, he's gotten depressed or talked about something depressing, though he tends to come out of it with stronger bonds. He's not much of a happy man, though if he is pleased about something, it's not that hard to tell. He's got a soft spot for kids, though he fails entirely at socializing with them.

And also, he still smokes, though it makes him cough to all hell, as well as sometimes provoke nanomachine attacks. He's too stubborn to quit, though.
