Spring break 05!
Spring Break 2005. I was going to go into major detail, but I'm far too lazy and I'm sure you don't care enough to read through that entry. So, here are the highlights--
Friday-
Going to Pittsburgh and seeing Julie's house, family and all the fun stuff in the burbs of Pittsburgh (including Brusters, DDR, and the Sims 2)
Saturday-
Waking up at 5:15 to get to the airport at 6:45, only to barely make it to the plane in time because of the lines of spring break-ers.
Seeing the boy with flowers at the airport
Driving out to the Smoky Mountains, having a picnic lunch in Cades Cove
Hiking the 2 mile (!) Chimney Tops trail, and climbing up the giant rock cropping to see the most gorgeous view
Eating barbeque and drinking sweet tea by the Tennessee River
Lots of cuddle time
Sunday-
Drive out to Fall Creek Falls, which is in the Central Time Zone (which I was far too excited about)
See the 256 ft waterfall, hike to the bottom and look at its gorgeousness
Enjoy the 60 degree weather
Poke around University of Tennessee's campus
More cuddle time
Monday-
See live bluegrass music (ooooh baby, I know you're jealous)
Knoxville Zoo
Gatlinburg, the tourist destination of the Smokies
Renting Casablanca and (me) promptly falling asleep
Tuesday-
Making lasagna and pudding pie
Walking down by the river
Sharing my scrumptious dinner
Being mallrats for a little bit (what can I say, the boy wanted to buy me jewelry. I didn't let him get me anything though)
Purchasing the Moulin Rouge 2 soundtrack (yes, that's a highlight)
Having a dance party for two, a little alcohol, and an amazing talk about us.
Wednesday-
Getting to the airport waaaaay too early, but better for saying my goodbyes to the boy.
Sitting in the Philadelphia airport for ~3 hours, finishing the 3rd Harry Potter book and waiting for a flight crew to take me home.
Getting off the plane to ice and 12 degree weather.
Going to the Alexis Diner (finally!! Where I got a picture, and stole some place mats with instructions on how to mix some drinks ;)
Crashing at home with my puppy dog who was very excited to see me
Thursday-
Dentist (no cavities!), doctor (yay for no pediatrician any more).
CWS shift from home.
Staying at Renee's till 2 AM, talking about our usual random stuff.
Friday-
Brief visit to the high school.
Spaghetti dinner at my gramma's (mmmmmmmmm, sooo good).
Hanging out with Sara and Lyndsay (who I've seen once since graduation. I see her parents more than I see her).
Watching Napoleon Dynamite with them (Your mom goes to college!)
Saturday-
Breakfast with my brother and father (he's growing up so. fast.)
Watching part of Monty Python and the Holy Grail with my grandparents (my grandma did not appreciate it).
Getting my Moddy all ready for the semi formal (she looked really pretty).
Picking up Jen and going up to Renee's. Yay for friends!
Sunday-
Sleeping in.
Being a bum and watching tv with my mom until the very last moment I could before packing.
Making really good time down here (3 hours flat).
Returning to my role as Alexis, superhero.
I'm sure I forgot stuff. But it was very enjoyable. Tennessee was a little bumpy at times, but we worked everything through. I can't wait to see him again in April (or whenever the heck he comes up). Home was the right amount of time spent visiting family and friends. Spring Break 2005 was fine by me.
