So I've finally tweaked the playlist I've been working on enough to deem it *mostly* worthy of digestion by others. I dunno. I got rid of a few songs after yesterday and added another, and there's still one that I'm not totally sure fits (but it sounds epic dammit!)
But anyway, without further ado...
1. March of Cambreadth - Heather Alexander
Axes flash, broadsword swing
Shining armor's piercing ring
Horses run with polished shield
Fight those bastards 'til they yield
Midnight mare and blood red roan
Fight to keep this land your own
Sound the horn and call the cry
How many of them can we make die? [

2. The Weeping Song - The Michael J. Epstein Memorial Library (Nick Cave cover)
This is a weeping song
A song in which to weep
While we rock ourselves to sleep
This is a weeping song
But I won't be weeping long. [
x]
3. Lily - Kate Bush
Well I said, Lily
Oh, Lily, I don't feel safe
I feel that life has blown a great big hole through me
And she said, Child
You must protect yourself
You can protect yourself
I'll show you how with fire [
x]
4. Lone Wolf - Eels
I am a lone wolf
I always was and will be
I feel fine, I am resigned to this...
I am a lone wolf. [
x]
5. Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) - Florence & The Machine
I look around but I can't find you
If only I could see your face
Instead of rushing towards the skyline
I wish that I could just be brave...
I must become a lion-hearted girl
Ready for a fight
Before I make the final sacrifice [
x]
6. Twa Corbies - Steeleye Span
(Macabre Scottish folksong about crows discussing the process of eating a Knight's corpse) [
x]
7. Lily of the Valley - Queen
Messenger from Seven Seas has flown
To tell the King of Rhye he's lost his throne
Wars will never cease
Is there time enough for peace?
The lily of the valley doesn't know... [
x]
8. The Battle of Evermore - Led Zeppelin
The Queen of Light took her bow
And then she turned to go
The Prince of Peace embraced the gloom
And walked the night alone
Oh, dance in the dark of night
And sing to the morning light
The dark lord rides in force tonight
And time will tell us all... [
x]
9. Furr - Blitzen Trapper
Yeah, when I was only seventeen
I could hear the angels whispering
So I drove into the woods and wandered aimlessly about
Until I heard my mother shouting through the fog
It turned out to be the howling of a dog
Or a wolf, to be exact
The sound sent shivers down my back
But I was drawn into the pack and before long
They allowed me to join in and sing their song [
x]
10. Hounds of Love - Kate Bush
When I was a child
Running in the night
Afraid of what might be
Hiding in the dark
Hiding in the streets
And of what was following me
The hounds of love are hunting
I've always been a coward
And I don't know what's good for me... [
x]
11. Woman King - Iron & Wine
Hundred years, hundred more
Someday we might see
A woman king, sword in hand
Swing at some evil and bleed [
x]
12. Queen of the Savages - The Magnetic Fields
My girl is the queen of the savages
She don't know the modern world and it's ravages
Instead of money she's got yams and cabbages
She lives in a dome
I don't care if I never get home [
x]
13. Hostage-O - Warren Zevon
All you have to do is ask
I'll be happy to say yes
I'll put on the creepy mask
If you'll grant me some forgetfulness
You can strain me, you can maim me
You can chain me to the floor
I will be your prisoner, I will be your hostage-o [
x]
14. Wilderness - Bat for Lashes
I took my lanes to the sea
We had just pressed the shells into our bones
And we saw the queen in the sky
Gently revealing the treasures of her crowns
Took off all of our Armour
Every last single drop of gold
And we banished the land
Lifted our bodies right up into the cold
Wilderness
In the darkest night
I call out to my brothers
Come join me in flight... [
